Default Brushed motors history ? .

So I have looked around the internet for the history on all the brushed motors from back in the day like Epic / Tamiya /Kyosho/Reedy that were made in japan and the united states and cant really find anything ?. I had heard that Mabuchi in japan and Jhonson here the states made almost everyone's Brushed motors back in the 80s and early 90s ?.
Does anyone have any history or info on this ?.

brushed motors... AC or DC... try late 1800's...

the basic motor rotated by battery power.. late 1700's.

I know you are talking R/C motors..
even tether cars.. 1940's
before that tether cars were fuel powered ...

even look at electric trains for children... pre WWII.... * 1940's *

I started RC racing in 1991... I remember seeing RC stuff in the 1970's...
but radio's were Box radios with sticks.. like aircraft radios.

Maybe there might be a slot car racing forum that might have more on the history of brushed motors, now if you're talking specifically about 540 cans, then this article here would be a good read:

Another pretty good read on the largest brushed motor manufacturer in the world:

I was told once that they were racing 1/12 nitro cars in Chicago and somebody figured out it was super easy to put a motor and battery from a dustbuster in one. Early 80's. This was told to me by somebody I trust and was in the hobby at the time.

1/12 Nitro cars? what like the Robbe Rabbit P/U?

1/8 was the nitro class, with .19 Veco's and K&B motors... 1/10 was electric as was 1/12...
in the 80's I raced 6 cell 1/12 powered by 540 motors, no Nitro to be seen.

the only 1/12 Nitro was the Cox Nissan GTP, came out around mid 90.
