Losi 1/6 Super Baja Rey Thread

I drove mine this weekend. Whew. What a MACHINE. I stayed with 6s the entire time, but I had no issues with my body panels in 50d weather on Sunday.
This was after 2 sets of packs and jumping/crashing about 50% of the time.
I think this thing is built right. I want upgrades...but it's a great giant scale RTR if you ask me.
I love this thing.

I had some ridiculous crashes today, and also can't believe my glued tire is still holding.
On smaller jumps my truck feels pretty neutral in the air with tire removed and ballast installed in the fuel cell.
This truck is great fun to drive. I feel bad for those having issues with theirs.
From what I gathered on Facebook some people didn't care for the way it handled out of the box. I've only really ran the optional 3 degree toe pieces in the back and the truck handles exceptional. (For what it is)

I got bettter look at it over weekend. It’s smaller then I thought, compared to the 6Audi.

It's too big for me to run in streets where cars are sporadically parked. (Or run fast anyways)

That’s not good. Any chance you have another vehicle. Pull out receiver and try it. It would at least confirm if receiver died.

Been following this since the start.
Guys not to sound like a jerk or know it all here but 8s????
These trucks are meant to be scale re creations of the real thing.
That would be like a real one of these having a top fuel dragster engine in it.
As far as the rear axle failures .....thats no surprise!
Those gears need to be set up properly they are nothing more then scaled down real thing!
If a full scale rear axle is set up wrong it wont last one pass with 800 plus HP thrown at it.
As normal with RTR's like this they need to be checked before bashing them.
If you want a beater then buy some sort of 1/8 Truggy set up.
Scale is scale!

8s 19t isn't much different stress wise than the HV 6s setup with 21t -22t gearing.
In other news, I shimmed my factory servo saver spring. My steering works well enough for now, but I am a bit concerned about the longevity of stock steering posts. They are so tiny, like 1/10 size.

Am running a 2 channel receiver currently until Horizon figures out how to help me. Truck with no AVC is the way to go. It felt completely different and amazing.

You are correct. They few times I have driven mine the avc was off. The truck does handle petty good out of the box. I installed the 3 degree rear toe inserts and it was even better. The rear fenders on mine are already cracked on the back corners of them so I guess those will be getting replaced regularly. Overall pretty happy with the truck. Just want some hopups and bling.
