It came apart at the seam, and I run 8s in every electric car I have. What did surprise me is that it was a rear tire and not a front tire.

finally got it back together and got out today.
did a few 8s runs. crazy fast so be prepared and leave appropriate stopping distances. very fun. the smc 4500 4s hard packs fit like a glove.
couple observations.
I have not inspected the front end yet but there's a ton of steering wobble or slop. will post back once I take a look into it but are others seeing this slop on theirs?
also the body panels sure are frail! did a couple small jumps and both rear fenders are shot and the front hood cracked.
other 5th scales I own that are 1 price seem to hold up a little better.

Mine doesn't really have much slop in the steering, nothing I would consider "out of tolerance" anyways.
Be careful with those battery packs, lol. I lost another tire today, and was just gradually increasing speed.

I've seen a brand new body crack in cold weather, so im gonna say maybe. With my cartwheel style crashes the bumpers are taking the bulk of force.

Been following this since the start.
Guys not to sound like a jerk or know it all here but 8s????
These trucks are meant to be scale re creations of the real thing.
That would be like a real one of these having a top fuel dragster engine in it.
As far as the rear axle failures .....thats no surprise!
Those gears need to be set up properly they are nothing more then scaled down real thing!
If a full scale rear axle is set up wrong it wont last one pass with 800 plus HP thrown at it.
As normal with RTR's like this they need to be checked before bashing them.
If you want a beater then buy some sort of 1/8 Truggy set up.
Scale is scale!

Well...I decided to take it for a spin at the local track again. Suspension set, voltage increased, steering adjusted. It handled much much better. There was a very small puddle from rain run off in the corner of a turn. Inadvertently drove through it, small splash. Fried the receiver. Completely my fault, just wish the SBR had a sealed receiver box like most do. Time to dry it out and see if she comes back.
