Default muchmore power supply issue

I have a dual channel much more legend power supply and one of the channels is saying overvoltage. Does much more have any presence in NA? I'm trying to find someone to fix it but their Facebook page seems dead and no one is replying to my messages.

Cheers

If you can't get a hold of them I would suggest shopping for a new supply. Unless it's super simple to fix, trouble shooting power supplies isn't worth the cost. You can always try poping it open your self after it's fully discharged. And looking for damaged stuff, smelly, or burnt components but beyond that takes more than basic skills.

Please make sure if you decide to open it, discharge the capacitors. Look up how to do it, becuase mains voltage will wreck you and not even care.

I got into a debate with another guy on RCTech recently where he swore that MuchMore was an independently owned company, however I linked to Hobbico's wiki page which lists MuchMore as a "proprietary brand" which to me means they are part of the bankruptcy. I sent them an email weeks ago asking for a statement on MuchMore's affiliation with Hobbico and whether they are part of the bankruptcy and I haven't got a response since.

Without picking a side here, but wikipedia, while great, is not always the most reliable source. Remember, anyone can write anything they want there, and it will stay so, until someone else sees it and bothers enough to correct it. So you could actually go there and replace MuchMore by, let's say Mercedes Benz and go "Hey look what I found on wikipedia" - and you'll agree that even though it would say so on wikipedia (for a while), it wouldn't become true because of that, right?

I really don't know if Muchmore is independent or part of Hobbico - but at least MuchMore's homepage does not mention Hobbico, while e.g. Axial's site clearly says "A subsidiary of Hobbico, Inc."

Muchmore appears to be sold direct through three dealers in the US: A-Main, TQ RC Racing and AbsoluteHobbyz. Perhaps you can contact one of them to see about repairs. My inclination is to tell you to just go buy a HP server power supply on eBay, modify it (very basic and easy to do) and be done with it. You'll wind up with a far superior power supply and it's most likely going to cost you less.

I sent an email to Joe (with a link back to this thread), hoping he can help clarify if the wiki page is correct or not:
Red RC ? RC Car News » Pillars appointed Muchmore Racing USA team manager

***UPDATE

Joe quickly replied back, great guy!

Hobbico was a distributor for Muchmore and that is all. They do not in anyway own any part of Muchmore.

Hope this helps,
