Recently picked up the 22 4.0 SR, trying to set it up via the stock\recommended setup guide. I can't get the rear ride height below ~24.5 mm. I have the shock adjuster nut thing all the way up. I double checked the shock limit is 29mm and the shocks are in front.

How can I get to 23 mm ride height?

Had the same problem with mine. Get some Associated 0 offset spring cups and that will fix your issue.

I see some others have the issue now that I read through some more of the thread. Did you use the stock springs? Or do I have to buy others?

Are the spring cups that come with it standard or the +4mm? I see that TLR233021 includes both standard and +4mm, if the stocks are already standard then that won't help obviously.

Sorry, new to this racing thing...

Not sure how to do this, and I don't see -3mm rear hubs. Sorry, new to this.

Yes, out of the box you can run the raised diff ,the +3mm rear hubs, hrc front pivot and laydown gearbox.

You will probably need stiffer springs and maybe antiroll bars. Oh and Maybe the gear diff.

You can use the stock springs but I switched to Yokomo Green rear springs at the same time. As I recall (I've already sold the car), I could easily get down under 20mm of ride height.

wondering if anyone can explain all the new types of pistons that I see on setups.
I see some with 4 hole pistons like 3 x 1.4 and 1 x 1.0 vs the newer setups are 3 hole pistons like 1.6 x 2 and 1 x 1.0. What are the differences of running one or the other?

Ok, I feel like a bit of an idiot but I was able to get down to like 22.5 mm. I was checking the ride height before without the body on.

I also forgot to mention that I have the 27g brass c block (TLR334041 TLR 4.0 Brass LRC Hinge Pin Brace). So like some others said I don't believe its possible to get down to 23 mm out of the box.

The guys at my local track (Trackside) did say everyone was running the brass cblock, but otherwise the default setup should be good.

My total weight is around 1560g.

Here are my other parts

Savox SC-1251MG
Futaba R304SB-E
Hobbywing XR10 Justock
SchuurSpeed Extreme SPEC V3 17.5
SMC Factory Spec 4400mah 60c 2s shorty
TLR334041 TLR 4.0 Brass LRC Hinge Pin Brace
ProLine Electron MC front
ProLine Positron MC rear

What is the most affordable/easiest way to do a ball diff rebuild? Do I need to buy all the individual parts, or does someone make a rebuild kit (i.e. TLR, MIP, etc.)? I'm just looking to match the kit performance, I don't need/want the Schelle Pro built differential or anything like that. Thanks in advance.

I have almost the same set-up for mine, just Fantom motor. Everything else is the same (aside from lipo).
