So I decided to order those Hobao pins for the rear hubs and Idk if this happened to others but I still ended up receiving the philips head pins instead of what I thought had been updated to hex heads. On the bright side, I have a nice Hudy philips driver tip I can finally use with these

I linked the parts in the wiki, I forget which way I went, but I placed 0.6mm worth of shims on one side and 0.2mm shims on the other which centered the slop so I could use the stock shafts and didn't need to make any other mods to get the Exotek B64 spool to work just fine.

With the spool on turf, the car felt snappier and more aggressive, no doubt it could turn a faster lap, but at the expense of lower consistency... so I opted for 30K in the stock gear diff. Now that I've got a couple race days on the car and seeing that Andrew Clark is having luck with the spool, I may drop it back in and see if I can improve on my consistency... I switched brands of tires which turn a slower fast lap but offered higher consistency so maybe it will balance out going from a gear diff to the spool.

Did you order them directly from HoBao (that I linked in the wiki) or some random re-seller sitting on dated inventory? Green print is the older release, and blue print is the latest generation of HoBao inventory. OFNA labels are really old inventory, ha!

I'm guessing the seller I bought from is sitting on old hardware because I bought from HopMeUp RC on eBay and it is definitely green print. So FYI, do not order from HopMeUp on eBay if you want the hex heads

Just a PSA. Right now Amain is having a 15% sale on Tekno parts. And if you combine that with the WNTCAT15 coupon code you get an extra 15% off parts and accessories, for a total of 30% off your Tekno parts order

I just mailed in my first warranty claim for the 50% voucher on some parts, looking forward to seeing how this process works from soup to nuts... with any luck the spur gear will be back in stock by the time I can redeem the voucher

Which parts are you trying to get warrantied?

On the EB410, the only thing I've broken so far is a stripped spur gear, currently out of stock on Tekno's website, but I was lucky to nab one from Amain last week to get ready for this past weekend's race

The other parts are for my 1/8 cars... some bent shafts and a cracked aluminum shock cap from a nasty crash... it's very refreshing after recently making the switch from XRay to Tekno... some of my XRay repairs would get close to $100 in parts for a single crash where I've yet to spend over $20 on a Tekno repair... knock on wood!

Ahh okay good haha i thought you had already racked up a list of broken bits on the 410. Nice to see you are pleased with the switch to Tekno coming from Xray though I imagine just regular maintenance on the xray can be costly just for a diff or shock rebuild.

Btw for anyone looking for spurs, Amain has a bunch right now and you can get up to 30% off It says they have around 20 left.

Running 650 shock oil in rear and 725 in front. The diffs are 7k / 80k / 20k. Ride height 15mm. Runs -2 camber front and rear. No stop washers on the steering because of a smaller and technical track.

I must say the car is now awesome on the track, huge difference compared to 60k oil in the center diff. No rear lift on the wheels at all. The car pulls hard and sweeps corners like nothing I have tested Before.
did you use the 2mm riser?

Honestly, I've probably saved about $40 in parts already with several crashes that I'm convinced that would've broke my Shuey... several drivers have commented on my collection of wooden splinters on the front axles from hitting the 2x4" lane dividers when trying to take tighter lines than the track will allow

Next up is designing an arrow decal for the bottom of my chassis!
