Ordered those Raceform towers on that special they got going on. Will see what is what on them. Considering how I can hit stuff, will test to see if they are unbreakable
I ordered those too. Curious to see how durable they truly are

Here's a little tip for getting those shock caps to go on a lot easier on new builds. Take your caps and give them a few light squeezes in the 17mm part of your Tekno multi tool, rotate it a few times with a light squeeze each time, it makes them round and they go right on. Hope this helps!

If that works, that is a great tip!

The first company to release aluminum shock caps to the public will be getting my money thankfully I got a spare set of the plastic ones because a couple of my kit caps just weren't gonna go lol. I tried to round them out like Hoyt mentioned but no luck. Got everything built though. Now just waiting on Amain to get me the new motor and might as well wait for the receiver tray from Raceform to get here too

But overall this was a great build. Honestly I had no issues aside from the caps. No stripping plastic, everything is snug as it should be, the turnbuckles were actually easy to build, and the driveline is as smooth as buttah. Great kit Tekno!

PS: no shims in the diffs were a dream come true, thank you

It's just guys waiting on ceramic kits. The stock bearings are great and can move almost as freely as ceramic if you clean the stock grease out and use oil instead. I'm keeping my kit bearings as backups in case I have any failure on track with the ceramics.

The stock bearings are fine... even with the grease that comes in them. There are some that will tell you they are .001 faster using the ceramics..

Shock caps... stock caps work fine... secret install trick....

dry fit them a few times... on... off.... on....off .... much easier to do without trying be steady with a shock body full of oil...

yep threading the shock caps first 100% helped. Though I still ended up with two caps that I gave up on lol. Once you find the threads though it twists on nicely

Default Dry fit

Yea I’m a little rusty haven’t wrenched on 1/8 scale stuff in couple years cause of accident and I’m slowly getting back into it and being that this car is a true 1/8 scale just shrunken down to a 1/10 scale bag A center diff well first I over filled the dang thing then got that situated went to put together and found out I still was overfilled as the diff oil seeped out and fought lining the holes up with gasket I thought you idiot why didn’t you dry assemble just to check stuff out I haven’t got to the shocks yet but planned on doing a dry run with the caps but definitely getting the first aluminum ones I can LOL
Thanks for the answers on the bearings cause I always wanted to try tekno but I’m very loyal to Mugen so this lil bugger was the answer and my awesome wife bought me one cause she watched me sell everything I had and rack up my credit and drained our bank accounts from an accident I had back in 2015 it was nasty and still is cause we’re digging out of a big arse hole of debit and such so she knew I wouldn’t buy it for myself so she logged into amain under my account found everything I wanted ordered it and surprised the crap out of me, yea she’s that awesome
