hey raul..... quick tip for you to avoid any headaches on the front hex where the pin goes through and the little rubber oring holds it on... replace the oring with a thicker better one.. I had some from my paintball guns that are high quality.. about 3 times thicker. it sucks to be leading a race and loose front wheel drive if one of those tiny stock orings break... I had it happen twice so I changed to thicker ones ... no problems since..

also get some flex in that car... you will like it.

There's nothing wrong with the stock oring on the front hex ...u have to slide it on the inside before you put the pin in ... assemble everything then add the pin last ... so u don't stretch it out before ever running it ....u could also switch to the orings that are used on the bevel gear they seem to be a little thicker if you're that concerned...but I have never have one fail ...that's 3 years with a 6.5 on 8th scale tracks FYI...

still had it in my box.. you can see the difference.. now I don't have to worry about one breaking.
and fyi don't care if you ran a 6.5 motor... I have seen them break with a stock motor and 5 turn hot mods... just because you didn't break one doesn't mean they wont break.. I broke both mine on carpet so the surface doesn't matter.. or maybe it does as carpet fibers do get in there over a 6 minute race and maybe that's what makes the stock ones break once in a while.

Hey guys,
New to the 1/10 4wd buggy scene.
I've been running a 4wd SCT and have quite enjoyed it so have decided to take the leap for 4wd mod buggy and start racing more.
Ive just ordered the electronics for my S104 evo that has been sitting idle for a couple of weeks:

Trackstar 7.5T (4200kv) v2 Brushless Motor w/20T Pinion (Stock 87T Spur)
Hobbyking X-Car 120a ESC (Hobbywing Xerun 2.1/Quicrun 120a Clone)
2x Turnigy Ultimate Nano-tech 4600mah 90c Shorty/s
Savox 1258TG

Once i get it up and running as well as get used to the faster speeds i may start changing stuff, but what is a good starting point or changes to make? Increase timing? Bigger pinion? Lower EPA?

Any help on setting up the car for a medium size, hard packed outdoor track would be awesome.

Cheers

welcome to the club. We are here to help obviously.
Do you have the center slipper of center diff?
I'd probably start off with a milder motor. The S14-2 based car loves 13.5t. you can always add boost and turbo settings in your esc(if it is adjustable).
As for base chassis setup, start with the kit setting and tune from there. What track are you running on what tires?

Im running the center diff. previous owner has set diffs up at 5/10/3 from my memory as he ran high bite tracks.
Unfortunately the 7.5T is already on its way. I run a 8.5T or similar in my SCT so i will tune with what i have. May turn down EPA if need be.

Previous owner installed 37.5wt 1.6 piston front and 32.5wt 1.7 piston rear.
That is the main setup i have to work with for now.

Tires are a combo. I received pins, bars and slicks with the car, mainly bars however. the track is a medium bite hard pack that can get a little dusty at times so may stick with bars for the future.

Proline blockades and holeshots should be in your arsenal of tires. Use moulded blue foams in front and open cell white foam in rear.

Can anyone tell me which offset front wheel fits the 12mm hex on S14-2? Is it AE or Losi? Thanks.

AE fit properly. Personally I like the Serpent SDX4 front wheel. It has the deepest wheel nut hole so the stub axle/wheel nut don't get caught on a pipe/wall/ other buggy.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately I was running Losi on my TRF car. I will check out the Serpent wheels.

Unfortunately there is 0 option bodies for our cars at the moment. But I am working on a solution so be a little patient. Thanks!

Went crazy on my sworkz. More pics to come. Narrowed the chassis and used an xb4 tub from 2014. Didn't really save much weight but did narrow the car up for tons of new body options as well as increasing the flex by a great bit. Potentially too much; time will tell. Got a pack of testing done at Silverfox Rc Raceway - Thank you Greg Husman - and the car felt great. No battery in the car for the pics; we were comparing our S104 evos and they weighed within a few grams of each other IIRC.
