Default Copper exhaust pipe gaskets

Anyone use these things? I tried one and it leaks a bit, I don't really want to use any exhaust gasket sealant.

Thoughts? I never had a problem with lead gaskets, just figured maybe copper would be more better.

We use copper exhaust gaskets on our 600cc race headers, they seal nicely, you jut have to make sure you install them correctly. If they are flat on both sides, it wont matter, but if they have a flat side, and a curved side, you need to make sure your curved side is facing the block, NOT the exhaust. Good luck!

Thanks guys. I was just curious because I've never head issue with lead gaskets, and I've used copper gaskets on my real cars with no issues.

I didn't know if all the backpressure from the tuned pipe could cause issues if installed without sealant.

As long as you're torqued correctly, I don't know if these have torque specs or its just to feel, you shouldn't have any problems. If its been taken off and put back on several times this could potentially create small issues. I don't know anything about lead gaskets, except that lead itself has a low melting point, and might soften up if you have high enough block temperatures.
