Beast mode: ON

First test run with the Cordova 1440. It destroys the ground, very violent indeed

Temps after 10 minutes
100, Cordova 1440 Motor
120, Castle MMX ESC
105, Turnigy Graphene 6S
145, Losi HD Center Diff

Comparing this 2000kv motor vs my other 1440/1500kv motors, the higher kv has much more torque, the low end acceleration is brutal. The truggy was sliding around like crazy. If the tires weren't belted, all 4 of them would have blown up instantly.

The stock esc fan on the mamba monster is a joke, and not suffiecient enough to keep the ESC cool. I don't understand why Castle hasn't realized it yet.

got some questions to ask
1. What speeds are you hitting with the new motor?
2. How did you manage to tuck in a pair of 6s lipo batteries? the chassis of the ET48 is pretty narrow. What's the dimension of the batteries?

I'm actually starting out with an sworkz buggy which is basically 'a mugen on steroids'. I'm fine about that. Somehow they're cheaper than the mugen kits themselves.

The good thing is that it's easily removable and modifiable.

Not sure yet, it needs a huge open area to stretch her legs out. I'm running a single 6S battery. The dimensions are 146x51x63mm.

Random tip of the day

My rear diff outdrive set screw came loose, so everything needed to be reset and re-locktited. When you try to pull the pinion out all the way and then try to slide the outdrive on it, it ends up pushing the pinion further in the gearbox which would mess up your gear mesh and just make things a little more sloppy.

So I took a hex key and glued a magnet on the end. Then I just insert it in the outdrive to pull the pinion while I tighten the set screw ensuring a good mesh.

Finally got to stretch her legs out. The wheelie bar can't keep her down

I had my first casualty with the new setup. The left rear dog bone just snapped right off. The outdrive is brand new, so no issues there.

IR readings from my 1.5 year old Turnigy Graphene 6S which has seen very heavy loads over that time. The last two cell numbers never show on any of my batteries for some reason, always zero.

1: 1
2: 1
3: 2
4: 2

That exact thing happened to me a couple weeks ago with the axle.. Broke my heart too.. It was the warm up lap, while braking! Didn't even crash..

I also happen to broke a CVD axle on my Kyosho MP9e without no reason for it...

Guess it just happens! :P

Just buy a new one and go!

Picked up some Yeah Racing fan protectors. It's actually not for crap hitting them from up top, it's because sometimes my motor wires will touch the fans when the body is mounted.

New T-Bone Racing mud guards.

Big thanks to Jeff @ T-Bone Racing for getting this done! Awesome customer service! They are not up on their website yet but will be soon. They fit the MT410 and ET48.3.
