Savox servo explosion
#1
So yesterday in the truggy A I had my 1270 literally split in half landing a roller. I didn't even case it, I landed and tried to turn but it just kept going straight. When I pulled the body the servo was locked solid and the case was split on the top from end to end. Has anyone had a similar issue? I'll admit that it's life until now hasn't been the greatest as I just started driving this year but I haven't had a good wreck in a while so I was shocked to see this. This makes problem 1 for the 4 savox I run in all of my cars.

i read the title and thought you had a servo catch fire! ha!... you basically either had no "give" in you servo "saver", your plastic cased servo is probally hard mounted without the rubber grommets or a combo of both for the perfect storm... tough luck, but stuff happens... its not the servos fault

I've had decent luck with this solid aluminum case brushless servo in my Tekno ET48.3... skip to about 5 min into the clip to see the specific servo I'm talking about:

I've had many broken tabs on plastic case servos over the years in 1/8 racing... often they go unnoticed but when the trim starts going out of whack during a race, that's the first telltale sign of a broken tab

There are so may factors that apply load that can exceed anyone's torque limits. You make a turn and load the wheels and catch another car's wheel. A truggy can be a real monster on parts. I have seen it so many times. No one can build bullet proof parts for them.
