Schumacher KC 2wd Buggy

Phew, i thought that it was just me! I've emailed Schumacher to let them know i have issues with it, they seemed unaware that anyone else had any problem.
Met up with Kompressor at Beachline, interesting to hear about his setup- it goes well for sure!
I went to P2 after seeing his thread...then went back to P3! Car worked well, being very predictable, if a little 'safe'. It was my first time on turf and at that track so i didn't want to to too far off piste with a 'rad' setup (I was on the kit Astro setup, but using P3 instead of P4).
I've gone to lighter shock oils 35wt front/30wt rear for when i'm back to carpet this sunday at the Banana Raceway - discussing the reasons for using lighter oils was enlightening (gear diff too).
Three KCs at the track and all going well (1st in Pro and Indy stock). I was nowhere near as fast as most in 17.5 (i tried the 2nd place guys car after the main - it was a rocket!) I don't use an iCharger and only used 24/76. Motor temp was just under 150F after the qualifiers and main (according to Tekin Hotwire) So, average voltage during a run, is mine a bit low? Is that normal?

out of curiosity, what are the reasons for using lighter shock oil that you found enlightening?

I've always thought that using thicker (heavier) shock oils would limit chassis roll and make the car react quicker. It seems that the opposite is the case! Also using a lighter oil in the gear diff should allow the car to corner quicker too (I forgot that one - should have been obvious!) Thing is, according to the sheet below, the heavier oils should have been the right direction to go (for the shocks):

It was a pleasure to meet you as well. Sorry I left so quick, I had a bad race night LOL.
Right know I've settled on 32.5 (blue spring) in the front and 27.5 in the rear (kit green spring) with 1.6 three hole pistons all the way around. The turf at beachline is laying on top of packed clay therefore its not perfectly smooth. I used to run 45/35 1.6 two hole 1.7 two hole and the car didn't land as well and also it traction rolled more. Diff oil i went don't to 7k, car rotates better and of course on power steering is better. The dude who won pro stock is a good friend of mine and our cars are very very similar, as we have different driving styles there are a few things i have that he doesn't and vice versa. Since it is a little bumpy in some sections i moved the front hubs forward and rear hubs out (making the car long) and it made it more stable. If anyone is really interested in the full set up I'd be glad to post up.
The lay shaft is a very very very little off on my buggy as well, i run the slipper delete but when i check mesh i can see in some places its closer than others but its not by a lot or anything to worry about.

The car is hard to beat for turf and carpet. Good call 
I used the following setup to start with on astro and I think it is a really conservative place to start from that is easy to drive and will get you close on most surfaces:

If your track is smooth/indoor use the kit 1.6mm hole pistons in the rear. It it is bumpy then you can drill them to 1.7 like Tom did.
I don't know about you but I am fairly new to turf and I have found that all astro is not created equal. The best tire selection can vary quite a bit depending on the exact "species" of astro you are running on. So make 100% sure you know the tire situation at your track.

I switched to position #3 with foam tires. With the motor in position #2 there was too much weight transfer to the outside front tire even with the 4.6# springs. The front end would just colapse at the apex of the corner. This is with the Gone Bananas foams and on black carpet. The buggy became a lot more consistant after the switch to #3. It's something to try if you have the time.

I have had problems with uneven spur/pinion mesh too. I thought it was from poorly machined gears but when I looked more closely it seemed to be the layshaft out of spec. I changed the kit layshaft out and the new one i have in there also does not seem to be right, but better than the one I replaced.

It's something to try if you have the time.
Since switched to 35wt front and 30wt rear to see what happens - hopefully it'll change direction quicker.
