Hi there,

i do have a DB8 myself but iam new to this size of buggies. Anyone knows if it would be possible to have 12mm hex wheels on the DB8. With 17mm it seems im stuck either on shortcorse truck wheels or monster truck wheels. Im looking for 2.2 inch size.

Thanks in advance

MJ

How good does the body keep yuck out of the chassis?

I think it does great, better than any short course. (Open wheel design helps)

I haven't run in mud, but this is after extended running on grass and lots of gravel. Some gravel bits got in the chassis, but that's to be expected.

Hi there,
i have an DB8 myself and i was wandering if it would be possible to go for the 2.2 wheels. But from what i read is the the majority of 2.2 size wheels use 12mm hex. As the DB8 uses 17mm would it be possible to reduce it to12mm hex?

Thanx in advance

MJ

I don't know man. I'm not even sure how 12mm wheels would even attach to the big axle if their was a smaller hex. Are you trying to use a specific wheel or tire?

I'm not sure why would you put 2.2" - so basically 1/10 buggy wheel size - on a 1/8 in the first place? Can't really downsize the hex reasonably anyway.

If you want to run the sway bars you will also need 4 89219 3x5mm set screws. They come in a pack of ten.

The sway bar kits don't come with them.

I came really close to putting the led light bar on mine. Glad I didn't, I realized I crash a lot before I ordered one.

Played around with sway bars. With no front bar and the biggest rear bar the buggy drives fantastic on almost all terrain with my suspension settings. (Within reason, this ain't no crawler)

Since mine is geared higher and goes fast I installed gyro to keep it more manageable at high speeds.

Runs great on rocks also.

I ordered one up from Tower on a whim last month. It's still in the box. I'm debating if I should return it. This thread is making me want to keep it.

It's my favorite electric, but it's fast. Quite different than a rock Rey.

I have no idea how it runs with stock electronics.

One thing mine does is stay on its lid a fair amount on high speed crashes. I'll have to tip it over every so often. Gyro helps keep that to a minimum

Hi there,
thanks for your reply. The reason i was asking is, that the majority of good wheels and tires are more for 2.2 inch rims. Even cool rims are 2.2 inch and have 12 mm hex. If i search for 1/8 scale wheels i end up with buggy wheels. I mean the DB8 runs great and fast but when it comes to customisation than a Yeti or a Rock Rey would have been a better choice.

Maybe i sell the DB8 and get me a Yeti instead.
