Hi, ok to put this thread live again?

I got myself this. I've been running with lipos and the ball bearing version of the stock motor. It took a while to get this running perfectly but finally it is and what a really fun bike! (have no previous experience on bikes).

I'm waiting for the hobbywing 5200kv brushless and will also put lights on it. A couple of photos below.

Some build tips:
1) make the servo saver one pice. I removed the spring and inserted some bearings inside. This prevents the steering flex/wobble and driving is much easier.
2) side supports up position, smaller turning radius
3) option kyosho rear oil shock; changed the spring into a smaller dia and slightly lighter tension
4) steering end points; if the bike falls when turning put take out some turning adjusting the end points. Then the bikes turns nicely when slowing down on the gas.

Really fun toy bike. Can't wait to get more speed. Really realistic with the driver moving from side to side and turning his head

Added lights front & rear, very nice driving in the dark!

Anyone knows about Dean Tech 1/5 (or 1/8) scale bikes ? Any opinion ?

I think more people would be interested in these if they updated the styling. They're stuck in the 90's.

Good input! I tend to agree. But no issue with high grip front tire, need to try the std.

It took me a while and some $$$ but now I'm pleased and driving is a lot of fun!

I considered real race bikes but not yet since a)
Hor is realistic with driver moving, not static b) Not driving on track anyways (might occasionally though)

Maybe in the future.

Hi, I haven't following this thread and just read the msg above.
Guess what - I had done exactly the same changes!!

I've also added lights front and rear to both of my bikes. There actually much fun, more fun than driving a car. I'm using Hobbywing EZRUN 18A+18T 81030010 on both bikes with Xray pinion.

Are there a lot of the 1/8 scale electric bikes out there where a guy might find one used or just go ahead and start with a new one.

Default Kyosho Suzuki HOR

Hello all, I am completing my build of this bike, but cannot find the Kyosho ESC for this. Can anyone recommend an alternate ESC that can be used for these rc bikes? I am using the Kyosho motor Le Mans DM20BB motor and the battery Supercharge 1600 StickPack NiMH 7.2V. Not sure what to look for when shopping for compatible ESC's?? Thanks.
