Last week I ordered an X1 2017 kit. It should come tomorrow. I also ordered a Tamiya F60 51397 front wing from CRC and a F104 "J Parts" 51383 front wing. I'm surprised by how much narrower the F104 wing is. What do you guy's recommend? Do they actually both fit the X1?
I'll be running on black carpet, medium sized track. Thanks!

I run the "J" wing but have tried pretty well every wing out there. The benefits of the "J" wing is that it sits higher then the others so it doesn't rub the track and you don't have to worry about getting it wedged under a board. I also believe its the most durable wing out there as well.

You need Hudy 109325 axle adapter.

to be fair i've been able to use the TC setup station without those adapters as long as the flat of the station is flat on the small surface area. that's the main reason the adapter is good, just a larger surface to secure the station on.

We used to do this all the time back in the day. The idea was explained to me once that it keeps the shock angle closer to tangent to the arc the rear pod moves on. From the connection point on the pod, tangent to the arc it rotates on is the most linear spring rate possible. Now as the pod rotates, that point obviously moves, so we get the compromise from the math guys.
