Default Piston pin clip

Hi, I recently blow my engine because one of this clips broke... so I was wondering if this clips should be changed after some engine use... my engine does not have been run for more than 4 gl.

Should be replaced at every conrod change. 4 gallon on one conrod is quite a lot. On a .12 you should replace the conrod every 2-3 gallon.
