If the diffs have been filled you can flip them over and drill out the hole to 2.5mm and thread in a 3mm set screw. That is what I plan on doing when I take them back out to replace the metal gears with the plastic ones.

I don't know the size but my hinge pins slid right through with no resistance.

I saw someone mention an issue with the right caster block and trouble getting that pin through. I had the same issue on the right one. I have to say I am a pretty loyal AE guy but so far things are not as smooth as the B6 assembly.

I had threads from the C-hub encroaching the hinge pin hole on my caster block. I filed down the threads so they would clear the hinge pin when inserted, but now I can't remove the c-hub without taking out the hinge pin. Hoping AE responds to my email.

Mine were not a pronounced as yours but it was just enough that I had to force the PO through.

Also the c-hubs did not slide into the steering knuckles freely. I had to force them and they do not move as feeely as I would like. Will see what happens after a couple of runs.

I hear what you're saying but in fairness, the B64 is an entirely new platform and 1st production run. The B6 was kind of like a B5M.1 and a much later manufacturing run.

Yeah I suppose. I'm just a tad disappointed. But I did see several of them run at a larger local race this past weekend and they were impressive so I will get over these little quirks once it's built.

So, I've got a mixed report. The first 2 of 7 that I sold are racing tonight. They're solid on the track. The car can be pushed hard with the box set up but its a little twitchy. The bottom line is that the car is a good performer. It doesn't elicit the same type of "wow, this thing is awesome" reaction that I had with either the XB4 2016 or the 22-4 2.0 but I have no doubt that its competitive with both of those cars. Maybe its not as impressive as the competition was when they were released because the bar was lower last year. Now there's a whole bunch of good cars to choose from and its harder to stand out.

Nobody had, or is having, a good time with the build.

Personally, I'm little disappointed by the simple fact that the car is so much like an XB4 2016 that I think that if I had not known AE had the car out I would have thought it was an XRay. My buddy is using his XB4 2016 body which fits like a glove. It really ought to be called the XB4.2. I digress, the car seems great once its built.

I just wanted to post something different than the normal reports about how people aren't having an easy time building them. Its tough for AE because, like I already said, there are 3, maybe 4 or 5, other excellent cars out now. Its harder to stand out. I for one am happy that it appears that I'll be able to run all the same brand of car and have at least some parts interchangeability between them rather than having to carry a separate bag for my wheeler parts.

Nice unbiased initial review. Please share your comparisons again when you've had more time with the buggy thx

Has anybody snapped the steering rack yet? Broke mine directly in half on first outing.

Much as I thought buying this buggy before I bought a barely used D413 . With the build issues im hearing and quality issue got lucky .

Saw a guy at a track I go to brake a Front shock tower but watching him drive the buggy looked good compared to the old AE 4wd buggy .

No one thought the first XB4 was awesome, in fact the originals where very
unreliable, go back and read the first dozen or so pages of that thread, you cant
compare a 2nd gen and 4th gen car to a first production run.
