I am in the process of building my Serpent 977e roller and nearly finished. I am wondering if anyone can give me some info on the best motor package out there for it?? I would prefer one that i do not need to solder ( except for battery leads). I am looking at a castle 2650kv or castle 2200kv? I have some fast cars already, so def would like something with a bit of punch to it..... Advice would be muchly appreciated

Depends if you intend on running 4s or 6s.

I wouldn't use anything other than Hobbywing these days (XR8 Pro in this case). The stuff is just bullet proof and very powerful. I've seen many many castle motors and ESCs blow up so I would defo avoid them.

Generally for 4s you can start with 2150kv - 2600kv motor and for 6s 1900kv (Hobbywing G2 series motors).

As Dan Stated, the XR8 Plus is awesome. Its what i run in my 1:8 On Road on 4S with either a 2050 or 2200 KV motor. Also, i would not recommend the Castle Setup, but a HW /Tekin Combo.
