Default New to this and got a project i need a hand with.

Hello guys,
I am new to the world of RC building and need a hand with an assignment for my course.

We have to design and build a car that will operate automatically and will need to complete some what of an offroad terrain obstacle course. (similar to the land rover RC 4x4 challenge) this track is straight. there are hills, bumps, tilts and a sand section.

physical properties:
max width=150mm
max length= 500mm
max weight=10Kg

max opertationg voltage is 12 V
control board has a max voltage of 9V
need to have sensors which will indicate when the vehicle is tilted at 10 and 20 degree.

also we will have a delicate object within the car(egg i think)
not allowed to use a track drive system.

We have a budget of £27 (can spend abit more)
have got some wheels at the moment and this worm motor rapidonline.com/rvfm-worm-drive-gearbox-with-motor-37-0310[/url] we have a few weeks to build this. also we have got a genie board and arduino board to use

At that budget all I can say is good luck.

Unless that "abit more" is around 10 times the original budget, you're going to have a hard time doing anything with hobby-grade parts. Check for a decent toy-grade model maybe?

5 finger discount might be within your budget my friend.

Let us all know how this pans out. I'm interested in the 10 and 20 degree sensors.
