Spektrum binding issues
#1
I've been told there may be an issue with the radio and receiver matching up, that I may need an older version of the spektrum radio.
Brand new DX2E
Older SR200
*Radio will not go into bind mode unless I don't touch the throttle and just hit bind when turning the transmitter on.
*Receiver flashes green as if it is willing to bind, but led goes out completely when radio attempts to pair.

Well according to Spektrum, that combo is compatible. And I belive is what they use for their dx2e factory rx/TX combo. It is possible that one or the other has gone bad or is factory defective.
If you're following the binding instructions as per the manual and still have trouble, I'd either try a different receiver to see if the radio will bind. If that doesn't work I'd call Spektrum and ask them about getting a replacement transmitter.

The new DX2E that's out (DSMR) is not backwards compatible with the older DSM receivers. I had to switch the radio to a Losi spektrum kit radio. IDK if this is for all versions of the radios, but specifically the DX2E is having these issues.

Or if you do have an extra receiver you can further troubleshoot the issue on your own by seeing if it's the radio that can't bind or if it is in fact the receiver.

The above information is from proper sources. My replacement Losi radio is essentially an old style DSM DX2E and it works perfectly as I was told it would when I inquired why my new one wasn't working.
Living 4 roads from a hobby shop is helpful sometimes. Swapped them even and came back happy.

Wow, Spectrum still hasn't updated their site regarding this miscommunication?
I have the DX4S from 2014-2015 and since I chose not to update the firmware, mine can still bind with the older receivers. The newer transmitters with the latest firmware can not bind with the older receivers from what I read.
