I know that as a team driver, I'll get the new car. But when I look at the market and see the old car is selling for 150 bucks (just making up a number), I'll keep my old car.

To me 150.00 doesn't make up for the piece of mind knowing that if anything ever happened at a race that I could grab my old car, toss it down, and run it. It's kind of like an insurance policy that I already paid for.

Speaking as a Tekno Representative, you should definitely grab all of the updated parts. They make a huge difference in the car's performance. IF we release a new platform, you can be sure that it will be a significant improvement over the old one.
Have you tried the new steering parts from the MT on a .3 buggy or truggy yet?

Very wise words here.

Reedy RS1806A 255oz/.06, 211oz/.08s) $170
Reedy RT2207A (294oz/.07, 240oz/.09) $170

I was also looking at the Protek 170SBL (535oz/.03s, 458oz/.09s) at Amain.
Could also look into the savox 1270, I've run it in my truggy, buggy, and ebuggy and never had any issues. It is 360ish on 6v and nearly 500 on 7.4v, I just ordered another from amain for $69 shipped

Been away for a few months and just catching up on all the latest so sorry if it's been asked or is common knowledge but was wondering if there is a new car or another update in the works ?with current prices on the 48.3 seems like this is the norm before a new model is released. I was thinking of picking up the current kit in the next week or so but I will hold off if there is something new expected in the near future

There are .4 parts popping up on Tekno's shop... So yeah, shouldnt be too long now for the new kit. But at the price of the .3 being so discounted you can't go wrong with that either.

Does anyone use the shock covers from badhorsie.com ? I noticed they have basically every brand aside from Tekno... Was wondering what size would fit Tekno, or if anyone knew of a better option?

Just curious;

Why is the tractiondrive and mechanical brake set no longer available?
Cant seem to find an "official" answer.

no sir, I haven't. I live in one of those parts of the country where 8th scale is non-existent after mid to late September. A few guys will try to race into October, but I honestly have never had good experiences running when it's below 55 degrees out, so we switch over to 10th scale indoors.

Don't consider this official, but I've never seen them used. I'm guessing just low demand meant you couldn't justify making them any more?

And tbh, I don't know that they aren't available. I'm basing this off your statement. Just not one of those things I honestly ever looked at.

You mean like the trophy race at hillside in late october? 109 entries on october 23rd, and a bunch of new faces. Can't complain 1 bit.

But yeah....4wd sct and prolite for me now. (Although I'm taking this month off.)

I'm surprised neither of you, Bob or Ez have an answer regarding the shock covers. [: You guys are in the top 5 of Tekno RCtech. Haha

Any of the shock covers that go on over the spring like that can cause handling issues. You won't find too many racers that can give opinions on them because we simply don't use them.

MX is on point. I see shock covers as a possible binding issue with the springs, and could effect handling. I actually don't use the tekno shaft covers either.
