So with some .4 stuff popping up, what does everyone do with their old models? I know and sell before the new one releases, some just slowly buy the upgrade parts, etc.. I hate to sell my .3 for such a discount, but I don't see the point of holding onto a outdated kit that I would never race again, since I'd most likely only use the new kit... So what's the best option? ><
People always seem to think they have to jump and grab the latest and greatest. The .3 is a good buggy, and I'm consistent with it as far as lap times. There is no reason why you can't run the .3 and be competitive. Heck, didn't stadium truck at a big event just get won with a 20 year old rc10t?

I was debating some deals on EB48.3s . One I can get, used of course, is about $200-ish shipped with some upgrades. Has me thinking about it a lot, especially as it has the uninversals.

If you look on the new parts page on Tekno's site, you'll see the new steering parts. They list them as being compatible with the EB/NB 48.4 so I'd say we'll see new cars sooner than later....

Please leave truggies alone. I don't think I could improve on my setup if I tried.
What doesn't work for ebuggy on a rough track? I don't think there is a track that gets rougher than the one I regularly club race on. It's an old school dirt track with loam, sand, and some hard park. It changes lap to lap, let alone heat to heat. What is it doing that you don't like? Do you have a setup sheet?

I have two main problems. First, the car gets kicked around over square edge bumps worse than any other car I have owned. Second, I seem to be able to get steering, OR rear grip. Not both. If the rear is locked down enough to be driveable, it won't steer. If it has enough steering, it has crazy over steer. The only thing it does well is jump and land. I have tried every setup out there, plus done my own setup work. The latest attempt was the newest setup on the Tekno site for outdoor, rough tracks. Including the new rear hubs, LF springs, recommended shock pistons and emulsion setup. That was probably the worst the car has ever been. It would go into crazy "tank slappers" down the straights if I hit a bump just wrong. My other cars hardly even get upset by the bumps. The closest thing I have found was the Wicked Weekend setup, but steering suffers. Especially on power. It just kills my corner speed and I end up 2-2.5 seconds a lap slower than I am with my other two cars.

Out of curiosity, what servo are you running? My buggy was pretty good last season. I just needed to tweak rear bounce (went from 40wt to 35wt in rear) and changed the front diff from 5000 to 7000 and the rear from 5000 to 3000 (more pull around corners) I have yet to test my new setup as of yet.

Can anyone recommend make a servo recommendation. I use Hitec on my planes but they seems to be a little slow.
Found on Tower:
Futaba BLS371SV (263oz/.10s, 219oz/0.13s) $170
Reedy RS1806A 255oz/.06, 211oz/.08s) $170
Reedy RT2207A (294oz/.07, 240oz/.09) $170
I was also looking at the Protek 170SBL (535oz/.03s, 458oz/.09s) at Amain.

If you mean the hitecs you see available are slow the HS7940TH on 7.4V is pretty quiick.
I am looking to use this as I have it sitting here:
Futaba S9372SV

Torque: 280 oz/in (20.1kg)
Speed: 0.07 sec/60° @ 6V
Torque @ 7.4V: 24.6 kg (342 oz/in)
Speed @ 7.4V: 0.06 sec/60°
Dimensions: 1.6 x .83 x 1.46" (40.5 x 21 x 37.2mm)
Weight: 2.47 oz (70 g)
$129.99 at tower and you can get discounts and tower e cash right now. As a super saver member, works out to $16 off (spend $10 and get $23 off) and $12 in E-cash.

I know that as a team driver, I'll get the new car. But when I look at the market and see the old car is selling for 150 bucks (just making up a number), I'll keep my old car.
To me 150.00 doesn't make up for the piece of mind knowing that if anything ever happened at a race that I could grab my old car, toss it down, and run it. It's kind of like an insurance policy that I already paid for.
Speaking as a Tekno Representative, you should definitely grab all of the updated parts. They make a huge difference in the car's performance. IF we release a new platform, you can be sure that it will be a significant improvement over the old one.

Servos: Make sure you are at least at 300oz torque. I prefer closer to 400 if possible. I am not nearly as focused on speed. In fact, my preference is around .11-.14 for speed. Which if you look at alot of the top pros, they run that too. For example, Tessman and Cav run the 2274 from Savox....don't have the specs in front of me, but I think it's like .10 at 370ish torque.
ProTek makes really nice servos as well, so definitely check them out.
