Looking at the heat sheet for IIC there are 13 past main event drivers listed for mod and more other good drivers signed up that could potentially make the main. It looks like we will have some of the closest racing in a long time and potential world class drivers in the B main. 39 drivers signed up for mod and 48 signed up for stock. Hopefully this will be the end of 13.5 12th and we can have just stock and mod in the future. Looking forward to see how it shakes out!

We may should allow to run 1S and 2S in the class for a year as a grace period.
After that we could go to 2S the only. I think that is usual upgrade cycle for the most people anyway.
The spec tires should be only applicable for big events, like in TC.
Lot of the SoCal tracks have open tires for TC during club races and Spec Tires during big events. I don't see why this couldn't applicable for Foam classes.

This is an IFMAR decision only. ROAR has made no changes ***REPEAT*** Roar has made no changes. 2s open modified 1/12 for IFMAR only.
Also, controlled tires for the worlds as well.
They are also adding a 13.5 class to the 1/12 worlds, which I assume will be 2s as well. Not sure how much different this will be to modified...

Thanks for the update, Rob. It sounds like, for the USA at least, this is "much ado about nothing".

there must be more to this IFMAR change. 2x voltage should only mean more speed. how is that considered a necessary adjustment to the status-quo? perhaps they are moving to a 380 can from the age-old 540 can? (but I don't even know of a sensored 380 available on the market) maybe this is a spoof, it is hard to see the logic behind it.
of all the recent chatter on this subject, adjusting the 'superstock' class from 13.5 to 8.5 or 6.5 made the most sense. A stock class, an open class and something more towards the middle that could bridge the two.
