Default Motor won't drive - need help!!

I really hope someone can help here. I'm having an issue with my car set up, basically I can't get the motor to run.

I’m using it with a R2104 Futaba receiver, 5000Mah Haiyin 2S Battery Pack and RC4WD Brushed rebuildable 540 motor, Mtroniks Tio Storm 19 ESC.

- Wiring all correct and double checked
- ESC Set up to LiPo and calibrated correctly according to instructions
- Motor (actually motors as I have two both same issue) work fine if you do a quick test direct on the battery.
- Steering servo works fine
- Throttle servo operates steering servo when connected

When you use the throttle after calibrating the motor buzzes, actually more of a beep, but does nothing. Same fwd and rev. It's like the load automatically drops to zero as soon as ESC connected.

I've tried replacing every single component, including the ESC, which was replaced by MTroniks for a new unit which I thought would resolve the issue, but does not.

Like I say - really tearing my hair out, I just want the darn thing to go forwards and backwards!

All thoughts appreciated and well received.

I don't know Mtronics, but most esc need to see the direction on a Futaba brand transmitter set to reverse before calibrating.

"Throttle servo operates steering servo when connected"

This sentence doesn't make sense. Steering should be ch. 1, ESC ch. 2 on your receiver. Sounds like something wrong in the ESC set-up. Does this motor/ESC combo use a sensor wire?

Many thanks Eddie - so receiver was in Normal mode, rather than reverse. I adjusted and re-calibrated, but still no joy. There was a very occasional spurt of power to the motor, enough to make it jump, but not move properly.

Andy thanks - probably a little simpler than that. To check there was actually a signal being sent out of the receiver I switched Channel 1 and 2 around so the throttle ch. operated the steering servo. When you do this the servo operates. So receiver seems to be working OK, it looks like it's something with the ESC.

I would recommend the hobbywing quickrun 1060 brushed esc instead.

How about the lights on the ESC? Are they responding as they are meant to for full throttle and full brake? From the manual...
Red, Green & Blue LED’s on solid - Neutral position in Lipo mode.
Green & Blue LED’s lit solid - Full forwards position in Lipo mode.
Red & Blue LED’s lit solid - Full brake/Reverse position in Lipo mode.

Also try turning reverse mode on, and also ensuring that the esc is set to lipo mode.

Thank mushroomed- yes all work fine and have tested in rev mode. Previous one didn't and they replaced it.

Sport10- I think you may be right, another ESC might be the only way here. I am beginning to wonder whether it's a case of should work on paper, don't work in practice. I'll try the proprietary ESC first they sell alongside the motor. Expensive, but I really am getting past caring if it works.
