I've thoroughly read the specs on both the RX8 and the XR8.

I went wen the XR8 for 3 reasons:
1) 15A BEC
Doc: Built In High Voltage BEC: The XR8 Plus is the first 1/8 ESC that includes an integrated HV BEC with 15 Amp output current, and adjustable output voltage from 6 to 7.2V. This BEC is designed to handle power hungry servos with ease.

2) Fully sensored
Doc: Full-Sensored Mode:The first motor (in the world) with a built-in chip which helps the ESC identify it's a Hobbywing motor (when pairing with XERUN XR8/XR8 Plus) and form a power system which can work in the "Full-Sensored" mode to provide users with improved performance and smoother control. Note: this motor is also applicable to other ESCs, but it cannot work in the Sensored mode at all times.

3) Support of wifi esc programmable with mobile phone app

For the fact it's just as reliable (if not, more) than the rx8, then the xr8 gets my business.

Sell it and buy a Hobbywing... LOL

Never heard of ESC having issues cause it's dusty.

ok, that's twice. you sure you're not talking about hobbyking? hobbywing does their own R&D, makes their own stuff, designs the software, and manufactures the products. many other chinese companies ripoff hobbywing stuff.

get it right. yes, hobbywing is a chinese company, but they don't ripoff anyone's designs.

I recently "upgraded" my RX8 G2 with a XR8 Plus on my truggy.... I'll never look back for sure... Absolutely love it.... At first I wasn't sold on the huge power button, but compared to the Tekin, it is soo much nicer.

Now the thing that threw me a monkey wrench, In my GT car, Im running a XR8 plus 4268/2600kv G2 HW setup, I run it on 4s, and it is flat out awesome....
While troubleshooting (what ended up being a weak cell) I pulled the XR8, and swapped it with a Mamba X using the sensor wire. And much to my surprise, the mamba is every bit as smooth, I like the Castle Link software more then the hobbywing stuff, and obviously LOVE the datalogging(what ended up solving my issue). I'm at a point now where im not sure if I want to throw the XR8plus back in.
