And do they also fulfill the special length requirements that were asked for? After all, Robbob wants them to be quite a bit longer than for example the original Yokomo DCJs, which are 40.6 (front) or 39.1 (rear) - so both nowhere near the length that was asked for. But unless Robbob is really doing some major modifications on his special project, creating a much wider front (200mm car?), I don't think such long DCJs could ever fit. After all, that length is about what the normal universal drive shafts have (44.0 / 45.5).

I just took a look at my cars... 42 instead of 40.6 may indeed fit. That's only 1.4mm longer than original after all, and my cars sure have enough space left. But 44... I wouldn't bet any money on it.

I'm running an FDR of around 3.2 for 21.5t also and used the sound method to mesh. When gearing so high I found the window of having a very quiet mesh very small versus when gearing on my buggy for modified. Wondering if it's got to do with more teeth on the pinion.
That is, for the bd7 there's a lot less gap in mesh. Not sure if this is expected but sounds okay after giving it a quick test in the street

Have the motor and pinion near flush to the spur. Apply light to medium throttle and slowly back off. Once the mesh is at its quietest, lock the motor in place. Mesh seems okay. New to 21.5t coming from 4wd mod buggy

Problems with Belt rubbing pinion
I have to run my pinions backwards to get mesh on my spur gear due to my motors key on the rotor moving the pinion too far out to get full gear width mesh . When I do this, the center shank(where the grub screw is on the pinion gear rubs on my front belt under some load circumstances.
Does anyone have the same problem and what do they do to resolve it. Also, is there any manufacturer that makes super narrow pinion gears to eliminate this issue since the X-ray narrow pinion gears don't help.
