The Orion company when through a big Org change in the past. This was the reason why contacting them was so bad. Adrein contacted me with the correct way to reach them and since then, I have had no issues with support. Also in the US, you can get support from Horizon hobbies. Per my understanding, the King and Tebo engines was distributed through Horizon. Horizon has great support IMO.

would love to but it was years ago, don't have the pictures we took any more. I eventually ended up taking the internals out and putting them into a different case and I had a brand new engine lol. The cracks were on the side of the block not very big, but we guess just big enough that when it got hot it allowed for an air leak causing it to be unstable. It's the same process you use on the heads of cars if that helps, not very hard to do but a great way to actually check. The only reason we even did it was because we were simply out of options, we replaced the bearings, even changed out the internals from an older engine that ran good, but in the CK case nothing ran for more than a tank without a flame out. Monty gave me tons of suggestions, we ordered a new carb, needles, blew out the old ones, nothing really worked, so with NO customer support we ended up magna fluxing the cases, then when we found out and sent off emails and still got no response, I even posted on their Facebook page only to have the posts removed! No big deal, I will just never run another Orion engine again

Token, I live in Viet Nam, and yes I know that is where they came from, hell when I was having trouble with my rear diffs, Adam Drake even asked Horizon to send out a spare rear diff, they never even did that and that was well before Adam left Losi. Horizon wouldn't even warranty two Hi Tech servos that didn't last a month. I sent them in with the original purchase receipt from the LHS, they had them for over 4 months, finally I emailed and asked, they said they had no clue or had not got them, and about 3 weeks later they showed up in my return shipping box not fixed and with no notes

I know for a fact it is quite easy to reach him if you message him on facebook.
I used three separate email addresses after the first few emails were never answered. One of those was an email from before I moved to Vietnam which still showed me living in the US, also even though I live in Vietnam the emails don't show your location if you are using email services from the likes of yahoo, gmail or others if you create it on the US site. The only responses I ever received were private messages not to post problems on their Facebook page and to contact customer support, I even used their links and still no replies. I got my first podium with an Orion engine that had 7 gallons on it and I was still getting 10 minutes on a tank. I loved them, thats why I bought the CK engine, hell even with bad service I bought a third but when they started telling me not to post issues on their Facebook page I switched brands and if anyone asks I will tell them what I know they have zero customer support from my personal experience, when the engines run they run great, regardless of what Token says or anyone else my experience is my experience and I did everything they said yet I never got an email in return from them...

I emailed adrien about bad problems with 2 of my 3 crf engines, he promised he sent out parts and I asked for tracking number and crickets....

I then after about 20 emails and 4 months had Joe Pillars from kyosho copy me in on an email to him and instant response and my parts where sent out.

When I went to do the rebuilds, I found the crank pin on both engines where too small to do a rebuild, again I contacted him and again crickets. I bought a couple of orion cranks off of ebay last week for cheap and figured I would try them, if not I would make someone a great deal on 2 new pistion sleeve and rod sets and a couple of cases with new bearings, lol

What a joke, short life engines, crap support and high prices, I am suprised orion would keep thier name on this stuff...

I am not a big fan of the Orion engines but I do rebuild quite a few. The crank and rod quality is pretty good and they last as long as any other high end engine. If you were getting alot of wear in a short time I would suspect dirt getting in or bad fuel. Dirt can get in through the front bearing also. What fuel were you using?

Ive gotten 8 gallons easy on my Orions. Never had any issues with premature wear. Now I never take my engines a part so I cant say there is no wear. Im basing this solely off of the fact, I put fuel in it and it starts up. The only reason I have new engines is just because I want the latest and greatest.

Support was horrible before they had the websites up and running, but now, I send an email and have a response in 24 hours. Horizon supports Orion in the states and they have been awesome to.

My only complaint, they could be a pain to tune

I have 321 factory tuned orion 3 port. What is a good glow plug for this engine? I have found the orion plugs are hard to find here in the states?

I would too like to know, as I believe you are talking about Spotcheck which is a product of Magnaflux. As an aluminum part can not be checked with traditional magnafluxing using ferrous metals and an magnetic field.

I am a Welding Engineer by trade, so I think that the Spot check method was used, it uses dyes to show cracks in aluminum.

Hope this helps clarifies some.
