My ebuggy did that when I was running drag brake. Turned it to zero, and it jumps just like my nitro buggy.

On the Tekno website they have a 11t pinion that should work with the buggy.

Do any of you guys run the upgraded shock shaft because I have recently bent one of my rear shock shafts. Would you guys recommend the standard or the upgraded shock shaft. Also what are the advantages of running the upgraded shock shafts?

What type of pistons are you guys using? Also what weight shock oil (I will be using Team Associated oil)?

The smallest pinion you can run with the split diff and the 44 tooth spur is 14 tooth. If you run the old diff mount (and omit the center brace - or shave it down a lot) you should be able to fit a 12, definitely a 13. I haven't run a motor that needs to geared that low in a long time and I can't remember for sure if the 12 fits. A 13 will (with the old mount) and gives you the same top speed as a 1900kv motor geared 18/44. A 14 tooth is a little faster than a 1900 geared 19/44.

Well what shock oils are you guys using? (Weight and brand.) I will be running on a small track with that is bumpy with medium grip.

Everyones driving style is different, so you might want to check out some of the setup sheets on the Tekno site to see if any of them are close to your track style or ask some of the guys at your local track.

With my current setup I'm running the Lutz Enats setup with Losi shock oils. I believe 35 front and 37.5 Rear with the 4x1.8 pistons

Alright, I see, thanks for the detailed information. Yeah, I guess I'll experiment around with it when the day comes and I hope that 13t pinion should be sufficient, I run 12t pinion on 46t spur for this x-ray xb9e. 12t pinion is more than fast for it. I probably will have to go for 11t pinion. Or maybe switch to a 46t spur if it even fits in eb48.3

The worst case possible would be for me to sell the motor/ESC and eventually get 1900kv motor and go 18/44 or 19/44

Thanks RCmatt, I am going to look that up.

The XRay has to be geared lower on the motor pinion as it has a 12/40 diff ratio vs the tekno 10/40. Your 12 in that should be somewhat similar to 14 in the Tekno with the same motor.

Like justpoet said, the ring and pinions are different. Xray's ratio is 3.33:1 and ours is 4:1. So your 12/46 on the Xray yielded a 12.7778 FDR. To get the on the Tekno with the stock 44 tooth spur you would need a 13.77 tooth pinion, so I'd start with the 14.

I saw on the setup sheets that everyone was running vented shocks. Is the only difference the shock cap or is there more to get for a vented shock? Also what are the advantages of running a vented shock and how many of you guys run it?

Default EB48.3 Setup

Hey everyone, I just got back from Motorama a few days ago and just want to share my setup with everyone. I joined the Tekno team this year and it was the first race for me with my EB48.3. The track was low bite and pretty bumpy. This is what I was able to come up with by the end of the week. As I get more time on the car and start getting outdoors once it warms up more in CT I will post more setups. I will be on here and the other Tekno threads a lot more as well. If anyone needs help or has questions I will do my best to answer them. Feel free to post them here, PM me, or even add me on facebook and send me a message.
