Besides making shock tower covers and chassis protection, what else would one have to do to make an 1/8th scale buggy legal (if possible) to run on the indoor carpet track?

I think you would have to make it weigh half as much. It's dangerous enough with 3.5lbs cars at the speed they can go. Not to mention what a car that's twice the weight might do to the carpet. As someone who loves 1/8th scale and is a board member, I would be totally against running 1/8th scale in there.
