Default Z Max for your Differential!

For the past 4 month's I have been using Z Max on my diff gears and now I'm here to say try it you will like it! Soak the gears in glass jar and let it soak into the metal (note darker color) about 24 hrs. It works racer's you will feel the smoothness!

Sounds like this is worth a try. I know ZMax is used in racing car engines to average car engines to promote less resistance, heat and wear.

Thanks foe the idea

Anytime! also if have just recently spoke to a Rep at ZMAX I asked if using a small amount into my diff oil (Associated) would change the effect's of the diff oil and was assured that it would not change viscosity of the oils. All that is needed is small drop of ZMAX, I use a eye doppper!

You realize you're changing the diff action by doing this, right?

How can coating the diff gears change diff action?

Because certain coatings like Teflon based can cause silicone to not stick to the gears.

That's is a good point! But at this time I haven't seen or have I felt any handling difference. Just the noise reduction and smooth feel! However this is only a test so time will tell.

Well I know a quiet smooth diff is a good thing.

I would like to tell about my experiences with z max. I have soaked all the bearings inside my trans for my x factory car. The difference in the drag of the trans is unbelievable. I pulled all the seals out of the bearings and soaked everything in rubbing alcohol. then placed the dry bearing in z max for about 30 hours. I am now in the process of soaking all the internal gears, spur and pinions and the rest of the cars bearings. If it makes the difference it did with the trans I cant wait to see what it does with the rest of the car.

What's the long term results guys? I'm starting a new build
Soon and if zmax works good for the long run I would like to give it a try. Figured I could take out all the metal parts and give them a good soak before I start the build.

racesanything,

Did you replace the seals in your bearings? Because just removing the seals will make an unbelievable difference in the friction of the bearings. It may not have been the magic oil. Just make sure you are doing a 1:1 comparison.
