They raise the front bulkhead and front shock tower in relation to the front inner hinge pins. This will affect front arm droop and front roll center.

Finally took the plunge and got the SC6 today. Was contemplating between SC6, SC5M and SCT 2.0 but due to better parts support for the Kyosho at the local track i finally bit the bullet and went for it.

Can't wait to finally get back into racing allbeit its offroad this time. Hope to learn more from you guys about the SC6.

What surface will you be running on and what motor are you installing?

The local track nearby is an indoor clay track. They only run 13.5 non-boosted SC class in their club races.

I would probably carry over my SP MMM 13.5 motor from my old touring car just to get the ball rolling.

First night out with the SC6. Indoor carpet.

Orange springs all around.
Short front links
Long rear links
A inserts.
Shocks layed down as far as they go.
2x1.5 associated pistons
50wt oil.
Collars all the way up(lowest ride hight possible)

Truck still rolls over on most corners.

Hi guys,

What parts/upgrades would you recommend me to get for the SC6 from the get go for spares or tuning options?

I would also like to know the recommended bodyshell for the SC6.

Since i am most likely having to order these parts and bodyshells online, it would be nice to have all the recommended upgrades/parts in one store to save shipping cost to Japan.

Thanks in advance

Add internal shock limiters underneath the piston (fuel tubing or plastic spacers). This will limit the arm droop and you can preload the shock springs without raising the ride height. I would shoot for 24MM ride height and 1/4" gap between the rear shock collar and cap, 3/8" on front. If you need more ride height at the track unscrew the shock eyelet. It will land jumps like a dump truck so it's crucial to land the downside of the jump. I would also mount the shocks out on the arms and tower (more vertical). Slash front offset wheels will help too. If you get it to loose, Goo Gone does wonders for prepping tires on carpet. Sometimes you just need to prep a little section of the tire

For spares: UM803, UM602B, UM609, UM782, UMW601, UM724, UMW513, extra spur gear & rear inner hinge pin holders if you do not upgrade to the alum.

I'm loving my Black hawk prepainted body from Bitty design.

Dont have my setup sheet handy but as of last night on a tight technical carpet track. I run 17.5 boosted and open mod.
24 ish ride height.short wheelbase
I have 7mm spacer in the rear shock 6mm in the front. 35wt in both.
TLR green front springs, AE yellow rear.
Rears layed down all the way, long links.
Fronts 3 rd hole on tower. Outer hole on arm mount. Mount is outside position. Shorter link.
nanobytes AB rear, Schumacher Yellow mini spikes front, two outter rows and one inner row cut and tape on the outer edge.
3 deg camber rear
6 deg camber front.

The week before I was 45wt/orange and 3deg camber front and 40wt/red/2 deg camber rear. Truck was very tippy this way. With the softer setup I gained a lap was much more consistent.

Default Weight Question

For those of you running mod motors in your MM SC6, how much does your truck weigh? I was comparing my MM SC6 to a couple of SC5Ms at my local track over the weekend and they weight about 2260g (ready to run). My truck weighs 2206g (ready to run). Curious to see where other people are at.

Thanks!

Once you do this simple mod, you can run a lot more SC bodies if you are configured for MM.

I personally like the JConcepts Hi-Flow or Pro-Line EVO SC bodies. I have not tried the new JConcepts HF2 or new Pro-Line Flo-Tek Fusion bodies so I cannot confirm if the mod will work on these new bodies that just came out.

Are you running on ozite carpet? If so and tires are an open option, then g locs are the way to go. Ran them last year on tebos crcrc setup with 5wt heavier oil all around and it was dialed. I'm thankful this year we have a new clay indoor track to race on. No more carpet! Lol
