Tried both ride and volante v5. Definitely volante look nicer, better workmanship, no wobble - cant comment on durability yet. Yet ride with all the manufacturing flaws yielded better times.

Can't recommend the Volante tyres if the track temperature is hot.
The Volante's barely lasted 3 runs in 13.5 blinky at our Nationals on the weekend just gone. That was on the Saturday when ambient was about 28 degrees Celsius and track temp 40 degrees Celsius. The tyres also had signs of cuts and cracking. On the Sunday when the ambient was 20 and track 25 the tyres held up better but were still done after 5 runs.
Generally I find the Rides hold up much better across the different tracks I race at.
txili it will come down to what class you are running, the type of asphalt, tyre treatments and the general conditions (temperature). Get a set of both and back to back them.

The first few times i ran volante i didn't like it - like you said, it seemed to develop 'rings of death' pretty quickly, within a few runs. This was the very first gen of volante tires with the old red inserts.
But i decided to stick with them since I could get them for pretty cheap and also the grip seemed pretty good - i figured i could just replace them more often. Then the new gold insert tires came out and they just heated up more quickly and lasted longer.
Since sticking to just volante tires, and adjusting car set up to suit - the tires just work for me. Very good grip and very consistent till canvas starts showing up on the tire.
TLDR; choose a brand of tyre and stick to it. Set up your car to suit and any respectable brand of tires should work well
