Yeah I got some rpm ball cups and some extra turnbuckles laying around, going to try them out tonite after work. I'm on 7 days now so I'm not sure if I'll be able to race VTA. The 3sport is a little heavy, so I was swapping drive shafts to shed some weight.

If you are planning on running RPM rod ends then you will have to swap out all the stock ball studs. I believe all the stock ones are 4.7mm I put 4.3mm on my car and even those are a little to tight with the RPM rod ends. I snapped them on and off a few times to loosen them up, and I've been driving the car with them so they are finally to the point that they don't bind anymore.

Just giving you a heads up that the RPM's are not a direct replacement.

Hey Super new person to the hobby, need some guidance with my sport 3!
I want to upgrade my steering, i have some specr cvds on the way, but i see people with those turnbuckle things and i saw two posts way earlier into the thread that described two routes for the ball cups and turnbuckles. One was very confusing and the other didnt really have much info for me to go on >_<. Can someone lead me in the right direction with that? how many would i need? Also for the CVD's do i need them in the rear aswell?
Also Is there a form of upgrade for the springs? I'm sure as a drifter i can possibly benefit from better springs, does anyone know which ones can fit?
What else can i possibly do to have better steering, outside of servos?

Check castles site they might have an update for it, or maybe hpi's site?

It's supposed to auto update when connected but it won't even recognize the ESC. There's a light on the adaptor that turns green and it just stays red. I'm thinking maybe it's not supported.

How about a decent yet inexpensive adjustable turnbuckle set for this car?

I don't believe there is a complete "set" released for this car yet. But you can just use these as upper links from HPI #93317 (4-40 x 34mm), and the steering links from HPI #93312 (4-40 x 24mm). you can add whatever rod ends you want to those tierods. I used RPM 4-40 rod ends, but I had to swap out all the ball studs on the chassis for smaller ones. I had a bunch laying around, but if you don't then you would need those buy those as well. I'm sure there are some rod ends that will work with the stock ballstuds, but I just used what I had.

What did you sell it for? Did you disclose what was wrong with it?

I sold back to my hobby store. They sell slot of used vehicles. I got $150. In sure I could have gotten more on eBay. But it was just taking up room.
Nothing wrong. Front cvds replaced, 2 bodies. Was actually driving better. But I've got too many 1/10 touring cars. Hobby store gets a deal, money went as payment for something bigger.
Overall was disappointed in car. Did 44 runs with it. While I don't race I drive on road more then off. And this is now the 4 Hpi road car I've tried and sold. To me just didn't drive as well as my other cars.

Hi all.

For turnbuckles, you can try looking here:

http://www.tqrcracing.com/shop/produ...&s_maker_id=56

just find the length you need. They are titanium and reasonably priced imho.

Ball ends:

http://www.tqrcracing.com/shop/produ...w.asp?p_id=865

they are 5mm

Regards to all!

Hello and welcome.

If you are on a budget, just upgrade the front cvds for now.

For steering I suggest that you replace your servo with this:

http://www.valuehobby.com/power-hd-1207tg.html

To me, it's the best bang for the buck servo. reasonably priced too.

Springs here:

http://www.tqrcracing.com/shop/produ...06&s_maker_id=

Goodluck and enjoy!

After I put on my CVD's on all 4 corners while keeping everything else stock for now it's so much smoother and no more doggie bone clanking!!!

Next up will be a new body or should I say bodies and matching wheels/tires/offsets.

After that suspension for mild rally on loose gravel. What's a good height to look for in a decent rally tuned big bore suspension for a 1/10 TC?
