Hi, I plan on coming to the Summer Slam trophy race this Sunday and enter the Sportsmen class. I've never been to a real track and a race before so I don't know what to expect. I hope you don't mind my stupid questions below:

1) Do you only accept cash for the entry fee?

2) I'll be scrambling to put my shortcourse truck together over the next couple of nights and won't really have time to test it out. If something breaks or the truck stops working for whatever reason during the event, would I be able to switch to my other car for the next heat?

3) I'm guessing there aren't many restrictions in the Sportsmen class. Do you see any issues with my setup?
Arrma Fury 2WD, Traxxas Velineon 3500kv, TowerPro 996 servo, Pro-line Scrubs T M3, Zippy 2S LiPos
Backup car: Vaterra Glamis Uno Desert Buggy

Thanks in advance.

Glad you are coming down! I can't answer number 1 as I don't work at the shop but as for 2: sportsman class is a "run what ya brung" class so there shouldn't be an issue switching cars if something broke. Also there is about a 3 hour window of time between doors opening and the 1st qualifying round, so you should have a good amount of time to run on the track and test things out should a problem arise.

The answer for number 2 also somewhat answers your 3rd question. It's "run what ya brung" so pretty much anything goes. Your car or anything else really doesn't matter as long as your not just competent blowing away the competition in which case you may be asked to move into a better suited class for your skill. You should be good to go though!

Thanks Rob, Hi Cirasa thanks for the post, We accept cash debit or credit for race fees. We almost always have a sportsman class at trophy races...but like any race class it depends who shows up. We need at least 3 drivers to have a class. If you have an issue with your equipment in sportsman, you can switch to any another 1/10 scale electric off road vehicle or a rental from the shop. Hope to see you at the race Sunday!

Thanks for the info guys. The place I ordered wheels for my truck from sent me a wrong set, now my truck won't be 100% ready by Sunday. I'll have to pick up a set of 2.2" shortcourse wheels from you shop the day of the race.

I'm not sure. Looks like the moderators are reorganizing things. It was not initiated or requested by me.

Tony, they are trying to organize things and initially didn't have a northeast forum for racing. So this thread was moved to the MidAtlantic one before the northeast was created and one of the Mods is handling moving all the proper threads over. He just hasn't had the chance yet, please stand by

Track threads are too far down the main page. People looking for tracks or places to race are going to sniff around the Racing thread. Might be a good idea to get our races posted there because if they aren't people aren't going to go looking at the bottom of the page to find them.

Before the layout update we were on dirtwebs and electrons as well as other tires with low pin or groove height. On Tuesday holeshots were money, but talking to some guys who ran today its looking like its back to electrons and dirtwebs... maybe suburbs
