I know Ryan and Casper are. I am not 100% sure if Dakotah has before, but he will be for the Electric Nats this week. I do know that JR is running it.

I just said that that 3 of 4 are running it...

And those 3 are the ones that really tune and dial in setups...Dakotah is a straight wheel and usually runs close to what Ryan runs since he doesn't race 4wd SC all the time...

I don't get to race that often and race on a tight budget so I don't always have the money to run out and buy all the new parts and only have a set of Deja-Vu's and a set of Typos both in clay compound. any advice would be appreciated thanks in advance

Cory,

The two things you listed off are directly responsible for more steering as an FYI. The 15 degree carriers change the height of the spindle and thus the bone angle resulting in more on power steering while the carriers themselves have more overall steering through resulting in more steering everywhere. Also, the +.5mm rear hexes allow more overall truck stability but will make the rear a tinge looser on throttle typically.

the other thing I would be sure to always do with this truck is to set your steering end points with the tires on the ground. A lot set end points with the tires in the air but with bump steer and other things going on, you really want to do it with the truck on the ground. You might find you can get more throw.

Also, make sure your servo saver is tight and threadlocked as well. If your servo saver backs off or is loose, it can give you less steering.

Ryan should the servo saver be locked down as tight as possible, what is a good rule of thumb on this? Also I have seen on here where some guys will grind some off the center drag link for clearance to get full throw on the steering, mine is all stock as far as suspension parts sway bars and such, I am runnin shock positions and springs like others at our track. I know I have 3k in center diff. but not sure whats in others as I got it used and never had them apart they seem smooth and no noise so I never worried about it.

For me, I typically tighten mine down as far as I can get it and then back it off a half of a turn. Of course this is with putting threadlock in place as well.

hey fellas, I tried doing some research last night but ill ask just to make sure. I ordered a new kit that should be here tomorrow with a rx8 gen 2 and a pro 4 HD 4300kv motor. Im planning on running 2S and am curious what gearing to start with. From what I gather 15T pinion would be a good start and a guaranteed no heat issue? One track we run on is very open and more of a 1/8 scale track and the other is a very tight 1/10 track. I know I will most likely have to gear different for each. Which do you recommend I start with? thanks alot

15 to 17 is where I gear my 4300 depending on track size. 14 works for tight tracks but doesn't give a lot of wheel speed to correct the truck if it noses down on a jump.

MX-king, i run 15/39 on an 1/8 scale track and the truck runs strong... 4300 is a beast, and it has very smooth braking.

How are you guys doing against the Tekno's? They seem to be taking over.
