You don't even need the standoff and ballstud. Just take the antenna mount from the front brace and bolt it directly to the chassis along with the shock mount from the 12R5/5.1. The holes are already in the chassis for the mount, and the original conversion kit for the 5.1 included the extra graphite shock mount for transverse battery position.

Since we're on the topic of convertion kits...With the screw kit and graphite axle, all other stock parts the car came in at 720, I added the bumper then had to add 5 grams to make weight. I'll get some more pictures of the esc cut out, and of the rest of the car up soon.

Well since you guys wont answer my question directly I think I figured it out. I think it will work I will order the rear clip of a 12r5.2 and mount that rear pod to the chassis of a 12r5 and I should be good to go. Only question is will the old top plate fit on the new on the new 12r5.2 aluminum mounts. Is the width different?

I don't think anyone is intentionally not answering your question. I'm just not sure anyone on here has done what you're trying to do.

On the other hand... if you want, I would be glad to sell you my RC12R5.2 with the Reflex conversion. I'm getting ready to get rid of it to switch to a different brand.

Love that kit, Mike does great work! I have one of his TOP conversions, car weighs 730 with a Team Powers booster (12g), bumper and only 6 aluminum screws (the rest are steel).

No offense taken, just trying to get pointed in the right direction. Dont want to buy all those parts for it not to work. On a budget and can get associated parts cheap.

Come on nothin' ... this is how on-line forums work. You have very specific questions pertaining to the 12r5 cars. This thread is better for general 1/12 setup and such and you can't be sure that we're all so intimately familiar with the 12r5. I'm trying to help you, but if you don't want to listen that's too bad for you.

Why are you wanting to put the 5.2 pod on the older car? Other than a little extra space for the motor, I don't really see it being worth the cost. Anyway, here's everything you'll need if you're adding the 5.2 pod to the original 12R5-

Total cost @ Amain - $106.18, which is $3 less than the 12R5.1 lipo conversion kit, and around what you could pick up a used 12R5.2 for.

If you're just wanting more space in the pod, use an upper and lower pod plate from the 10R5 along with the ASC4608/4609 diff hub & cone to widen the pod to the same width as the 5.1/5.2. Much cheaper, and gives just as much width to work with as the new parts.

People on this thread are trying to help you but you continue to refuse the help. When you asked about gearing everyone told you that today gearing is done by calculating rollout, help you refused to accept saying that it doesn’t matter. You’re asking about converting your car but you also stated that you’re not completely sure if you have a 12r5 or 5.1, so how is anyone going to be able to help you when you don’t even know what you have. If you keep ignoring the help your getting people are going to stop taking you seriously.

Because I know where you’re going to run this at; and you claim to be on a tight budget; I can say with confidence save your money and just run the car as AE designed it. There is no point in spending money when the total turnout is 4 to 5 cars once a week on a marginal surface. If at some point in the future SRS is somehow able to take their heads out of the dark and turnouts grow, that would be the time to consider upgrading the car.
