Hmm that rubber runner stuff looks interesting. Do you have any issues with the edges mis-aligning when you unroll it?

The outer end of the roll no problem, but the inner end of the roll had some lifting in the beginning so I used carpet tape (gooey double sided tape) to butt the runner ends together and mounted to my concrete floor in the basement.

The runners need to be cleaned with SimpleGreen or equivalent in the very beginning as it has release oil from the mold. Also it has a strong smell when brand new so need to be aired a few weeks. Besides this, this stuff is very good!

I bought this a few weeks ago and been keeping the basement window open while I'm down there. The smell has reduced significantly. It never bothered my wife nor kids though, so it's not a terrible toxic-like smell.

Ordered bearings for my MR03-S.

Do you all use any special wheel nuts or just the plastic ones that come with the car?
I ask because one of the plastic nuts stripped when I hit something and the rear axle came flying apart. I sounds like I am abusing my Mini-Z. But I am glad the nut was the only thing that broke. Drive axle wasn't bent.

This is my test mule car which will ultimately be my guest/visitor car so hopefully I get the hang of its limits by the time I order my 2nd MR03-S for me.

There are Kyosho option and aftermarket options available for wheel nuts. Ditching the stock plastic wheel nuts and installing bearings are usually the first two things necessary before getting signed up for your first race. The second thing you will want is the optional ball diff.

Thanks, Tim! I will check them out. Ball diffs, huh? (wasn't planning on modding my MR03-S.. )

ball diff makes a huge difference. but if you get the ball diff then you need the other things to go with it. basically change out the whole rear end. but like i said its so much smoother and better.

I was able to raise the body up 0.7mm without making the fender wheel gap look too weird. AND clears my marker dots.

I'm ready for the replacement body.

Thanks, I ordered the TS020 MR03-S this morning along with 4 more Orion batteries. Will get bearings for it too later. But for me, this will be it. Maybe ball diffs down the road.

bigjames- I want to try the PN tires and I have 2 questions:

1. Do these tires fit the factory MR03 wheels?

2. PN shows different "degree". Are these like shore hardness?
For most foam tracks, do people use the lower numbers or the high numbers?

TIA!

Yes pn tires will fit the stock wheels. I run 5 or 6 degree tires at my track I believe the higher the number the harder the rubber.
