Hi
Thanks for your response. I looked up the PN racing motor and the website clearly calls out that it is not compatible with MR03S in the keno hobby website. I am not allowed to post links to website on this forum yet)

Also is there a good source online that explains how I can add FETs to the MR03S PCB ?

I sent an email to Kyosho America; they replied that the x-speed is compatible with the MR03 sport with no modifications needed.

Looking to upgrade the motor, will the xspeed V motor work on my MR03s ? Do I need to do anything to the board to make the motor work like adding FeTs ?

Then open it up, check the wires from the battery terminals, I've had bad switches and fets that weren't soldered completely to the board. If you have a multimeter it will help you.

I'd be careful with theses sport models and motors. Kenon is covering their butts and I don't blame them. You can find how to's for fets on youtube and minizracer forum probably still has some guys doing it for a small fee. I don't know if you can just add a layer or if you need to replace them completely. Adding a layer isn't that hard with a good soldering iron. Replacing them is much more work and the chance to lift the pads on the board is great.

Updated my Mini-Z with a red 458 today. I've had the black Z8 and silver TT (AM radios) for the longest time but haven't driven them for over a decade since I could not get much traction and did not want to damage the body.

Until last week that is, when I installed new rubber runners in my basement track for my M-chassis cars since the 15yrs hiatus from RC. Traction is so good, I decided to give it another shot with my Mini-Z. I should have my car in my hands tomorrow. kinda excited.

I did see the 4wd Atomic variants but I want the scale look of the Kyosho. If I want to go 4WD, I will pull out my TA05 M-Four and CupRacer.

Newbie to the min-z scene... I have a Lancer EVO body on order - can I mount that on a MR-03 Sport chassis without much difficulty? The compatibility guide says it should fit a 03N, so is anything else needed to convert the 03S to the narrow width? What about motor mount position - I believe it says it would fit with a rear mount (RM) - are there any RTR Sport packages that come in a RM configuration?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Been reading up Kyosho's site for tires and I can't figure out their homepage. It looks like it was put together back in the 90's or something.

Anyway, would someone please recommend me some decent high grip tires to try, preferably something I can buy online in the USA? My car is a bonestock MR03S with a 458 body. I want the stickiest widest tires I can fit on the stock wheels.

Also, can you fit the MR02 tires on the MR03 wheels?
Thanks!

Thank you, big james!

I test drove mine in my basement track tonight. This is a tight track for my M-chassis but can hit WOT with my silver can. Anyway, I thought this car was suppose to be pretty fast...? It's not in the training mode, I already checked.

I am using new Eneloops. I need this car to go twice as fast at least..

Anyone know which tires come with the MR03-W spare body sets?

Description only states it comes with body, wheels, tires, and a display case.
Are the tires the same ones that come with the ready set?

Kyosho, you guys need to do a better job explaining your goodies online!

You need to get high discharge rate batteries for these. Eneloops wil never be able to put out the power of the AAA batteries made for Miniz racers. TRP, Peak, PN racing and others make race batteries and should be what you are using. Right now it's like running a 4cyl motor in a Corvette. Unleash the best and get a set of batteries. Best 10 bucks you will spend.
