Tekno ET48 Thread
#4022
Hi guys,
Just had my 3rd race meet with the et48, our track allows modification like extension hubs.
I've put them on the et48 and they have huge advantages at speed and when jumping but they have made the rear very loose ! I've tried raising the center and front diff oils with no change. I bought the lcr toe plate but still no difference. Mugen truggys running in my class are still at stock and don't have this issue with extension hubs on :-(
Has anyone else used extension hubs with the et48 and if so how have you solved the loose rear issue ?? Would thicker shock oils help ?? Harder rear springs ?? Any advice would be very helpful.
Txs in advanced.

There should be 2 different sets of mounting holes for the motor on that chassis to move the motor closer to the diff.

Ive never dealt with those hubs personally, but what type of rear traction are you looking for? (on power, off power, into a turn, out of a turn)
Softer rear springs will help on power traction, because the weight transfer will go to the rear wheels. But, depending on your jumps, this could cause the rear of the truck to smack the face of the jump, and try to do a front flip. I would suggest either between the green or yellow in the rear
Hope this helps

You need the long shank pinion made by Tekno

As said above it depends on what version of the tekno conversion you have, V3 i believe you will need need the long shank pinion, i had the V4 on my 8ight and it had different mounting holes in the chassies to move it closer to the diff gear.

I have green springs all round but will try the yellows and see if it helps.

I don't own a ET48. I noticed that the front hub uses 14x8x4mm bearings. How do they hold up the load ?
I use 14x8x4mm bearings on my 1/8 buggy and they are weak. I would have prefered 16x8x5 everywhere !
I think any bearing as narrow as 4mm won't hold the abuse ...
