Hello mates,
In the past I've raced offroad 1/10 ep and 1/8 smokies and now with the "itch" to get back into the sport I would like to know what the general idea of what's fun and competitive at the moment? The last time I raced would be roughly 3 or 4 years ago with 1/8th's, the electrical versions of the chassis were hitting the market, did it ever take off? I'm personally leaning back towards 1/8th gas again due to the noise and excitement but has 1/10th come back to popularity? What's a rough rundown on what clubs are running and when?
And lastly, to buy a whole bunch of gear to get going, where is the beat place to look? I was shopping at ryper but their site is down, are they still trading? With the US dollar shot I'm guessing its wise to stick with aus based shops?
If you have read this far, I thank you.
Sorry for the wall of questions, I'm just excited

Hey mate, 1/8 Electric is still around, people are mainly running them at the Belmont Astro track which apart of the Belmont Sport and Recreation Center just off Abernethey Road in Belmont, they usually run on Saturday or Sunday mornings I think every 2nd weekend (Not quiet sure as I don't run there)
1/8 Gas is still strong in Buggy, the club is MORBC based in Whiteman Park just off Nth Beechboro Rd next to the model aircraft field (has been the same place for years) the Aus National title were just held here last month where there was 160 entries, they are running this Friday night from 6pm and they run some weekends aswell. Another club is Radio Rally Club that run on the grass just across from Rypers in Canning vale, they race whenever they get the opportunity to, they are also running this Sunday from usually 10am.
1/10 electric off road is still going well also, the main place to run is West Coast Model Rc in bayswater, where we run a natural clay surface, this weekend is the Offroad state title title at this track running Friday to Sunday, come down and check it out if you wish aswell, the club runs Friday nigths from 7pm and also runs practice on Wednesday nights, gates open at 5:30pm both nights. Located on Cnr of Moojibeng and Colwyn roads.
Rypers is still running, not sure why the site is down, I only looked on there the other day... If you do end up running 1/10 offroad, I will have a car for sale after this weekend do for a good price too.
Cheers, hope this helps

Thanks for your reply
I will be having a look at Bayswater this weekend, also feeling weeknight meets may suit me better so will be trying to pick up some pro tips. Haven't raced EP since brushed motors!
Looking forward to it!
