Default fan position

i notice everyone mounts their fans behind their motors.so they blow in to the air flow.would it not be more effective in front of the motor blowing over and out.or am i looking at it the wrong way?any opinions thanks

Either way is possible. A lot of the guys at ETS like Rheinard for example mounts his fan between the esc and motor a you suggest. For me personally I like to mount the fan behind the motor. Horses for courses I think. There isn't much natural airflow around there anyway I don't think as the body prevents it. That's why we run fans at the end of the day!

Anything that promotes airflow is better than hot air surrounding your motor or electronics.

I've seen several cases in 4wd buggies where there is no airflow at all from the body, and that causes everything to become very hot very quickly. In that situation a fan anywhere near the motor or speedo (in front or behind) will dramatically help in keeping temps down.
