He did slow down and was in control, no real danger. But it's not very courteous to them either, especially the 2nd time. Imagine a nervous mom seeing an RC make a typical 40+ mph pass (much faster in this case) then come near their kids. Doesn't matter if you slow down when those moms sue playgrounds because their kid got hurt on the monkey bars. All it takes in one complaint about someone not being courteous and/or dangerous and "No RC" signs start going up. When there's room to stay away and not disturb others at all I think we all should be courteous and give others space.

Thanks for sharing the vid though. Damn that thing really gets moving when you open it up! Making me think my 8T needs more power and a bigger space than my short dead end block.

I went to the bmx track today. This thing flies and handles so well, I never once crashed it. I'm very impressed with its track performance.

I put a clear paint protection sheet on the chassis to protect it against rocks.


I put a little strip of hard foam to help cushion the tail end of the motor.


In lightweight mode for this stuff.

They're a pretty good size, much bigger than any rc track jump I've been to.

I've been hitting a lot of jumps lately and my ESC untaped itself. I've been using 3M Super Strength Molding Tape that you can pickup in stores for years with great results until now and I always clean everything with alcohol. This time I'm trying some 3M VHB 5952 Tape which is industrial strength tape which 3M says is permanent. I tested it on something else and it's incredibly strong but still removable with effort.

Hope that stuff works for ya, however Ive been running these "Novak Double Sided Mounting Tape" with great results.. Just a thought..

I recall reading some things about spacing issues with the desparado rims, how did you solve them on your build?

That's cool, they use the good stuff (3M VHB). There's several different types.

I'm actually still running the stock hex wheel hubs. The wheels rubbed on the spindles but it didn't hurt anything.

These are the measurements I took.

Hex - 4.00mm
Dish wheel - 3.90mm
Desperado wheel - 4.80mm

So you would need the +1mm offset lightened hex wheel hub set (TKR5071B). They also make a +2mm offset (TKR5071C).
