Default Transponder 2 or 3 wire

Hey guys I've just gonna start racing this year and need a transponder. and I see most are getting the AMB RC Hybrid Transponders but sometimes I see 2 wire and 3 wire, just wondering whats the difference. would I be better off getting one vs the other.

Thanks.

The three wire ones only work with the newest decoder. the two wires don't give all the features of the 3 wire, but work with most of the older decoders as well.. if you are not sure the 2 wire would be the better option.
