And then to boot they are recycled in the same evening, which increases risk even more.
So what I am saying is that with every one cycle my pack gets, your get from 2-4 per day. Limit the use to no more than 2x a day, with no more that 15 minutes of run time.
Just looked at my LVCs and they are at 3.6 volts, not 3.2.

Very rarely have I ever cycled a battery more than twice in one evening, I have more batteries than I have time and even if that is the case why do the higher priced batteries not do the same? My Orions and Trinitys are put through so much more than than my Venoms do. It is used in my 4WD short course and my 4WD buggy, both which weigh close to twice my what my buggy weighs and has a lot more motor than the buggy, or the stadium truck. Even the cheap Turnigy shows no signs of puffing and is used in my 2WD SCT with a 10.5 in it. Yes, there are times that I have run a battery from full charge to LVC and then charged it back up to storage. But that should in no way be detrimental to the overall life of the battery.

Also, if the batteries have specific usage restrictions or limitations why are they not posted anywhere in the packaging? ALL of my batteries are treated the same way. So basically you are telling me that all of my non-venom batteries can stand up to my "abuse" and "mis-usage" but my Venoms can not. Ill be sure to look into replacing my 3s and 4s batteries with Orions or maybe even some Turnigys.

I'm 100% sure if you opened the cases on the Turnigy or GA pack, youd see the same swelling going on in them.
My red venom packs have the soft plastic cases, but the green saddle does not. The green saddle pack actually split the case open. The Trinitys also have a softer plastic case.

Also, the 4 packs that I have that are the same are all 25c batteries, not that it makes a difference.

I hope you're joking. Do you realize how many racers have ONE battery for each car? Between practice, quals and mains they're cycling their packs 4+ times per race day. Bashers, you really think they're not running down to LVC and charging the same pack multiple times in a day?

The advice you're giving doesn't instill a whole lot of confidence in Venom IMO.

Yep, they suck.

I had a new 5s 3600mah venom pack DOA. 3/5 cells were <2v.

It took 2 weeks of arguing with support to get a replacement pack sent.

They said it was my fault, I never soldered a plug to it

At least with a HK pack I know I'm not getting a warranty

1/4 venom packs bought were DOA

0/27 HK packs were DOA

Funny because I've had great luck with the 4 that I have. They are just my practice packs these days, but I have one green 2s 5000 40c that is over 5 years old, and is still a great pack with no puff.

Racers complain about how much everything cost, & why they need to have certain equipent to be reliable and competitive. But yet they buy the latest tire weekly, change bodies with custom paint jobs monthly, and a new chassis whenever the next flavor is announced.
Any RACER I know of at my track, even the most novice has more than one lipo, and at our track we have no lipo issues.
Now for a basher, I can't comment. I have seen some messed up stuff come through the shop and only can give my opinion. They choose to listen, or choose not to listen.
Would you suggest a user would run their 1/8 E buggy , geared for speed runs, on a tight off road track with their 6 cell lipo in 100° weather for 20 minutes ? Some people do it. Some people get away with it. Some people pay the price with a meltdown. How do you want to look at it Racer?

To the OP. The pack that makes me curious is the saddle pack. You said it was green, the Venom green saddle packs have been long out of production for some time now. But when they were in production, I have used them successfully in my 4wd buggy without issue. If I can help you with your battery issue please contact me through my email. [email protected]

The guys I race with completely quite using All Venom products.

Chargers and Batteries. I personally have never bought one, because I have yet to see one make it through a race season. You can swell a brand new one in a 4x4 SCT truck.

Just saying....

I will email you pictures of the packs that I have so you can see them for yourself. The green pack is the 4200 saddle with the "clear" green case with bullet connectors, not the pale green with the wires permanently attached.

Funny you say that, I have a Turnigy saddle pack and went to charge it one day and the charger said low voltage, I was not surprised being that I paid very little for the pack, but for S&G I emailed them and they wanted pictures of the pack, so I sent them pics of the wires cut off and the pack in a saltwater bath and they shipped me a new battery free of charge. I was surprised.

Yeah I'm kind of dissapointed in Venom packs myself. My son in Cali got into Rc's. On my recomendation, he bought two new 2S packs, red hard case. One arrived with one cell down in the mid 2 volts range. Low enough the charger wouldn't pick it up. He bumped it to get it up, the battery never acted right. Venom wanted him to send it back. He told them they could be responsible for any fires from it. At least Traxxas is easier to deal with. Send them a picture of the cut leads and they'll probably send you another. Good way to sour sales to noobs.

Oh and they didn't want him to do a salt bath with it. They wanted it hot.
