Could someone please help me out with mod motor choice for indoor carpet racing? This may sound odd but I would like to match the throttle feel of my B5M with my D413, running a Tekin 6.5, as much as possible.
I've got a Tekin RS in it so I can go down to a 8.5 turn but that seems like it would feel more powerful in the 2WD than the 6.5 in my 4WD. I'm thinking maybe a 9.5 or 10.5 and play with pinions and ESC settings to get them close.
Any thoughts or advice though?

A lot of different companies make the same aftermarket parts for the B5M, but I was looking for thoughts on who makes the best.
I have been getting all Associated stuff (rear hubs, clamping hexes, pin brace, etc, etc...) and it seems good to me, very nice fit and finish and the price is good too...
Any input?

I use pretty much schelle everything and the ae aluminum stuff but just like Buddha said it's a wise idea to stick to the top brands because all of them make top notch accessories.

I have a 10.5 in mine, with a touch of timing on the esc, and I am keeping up with 8.5's and 7.5's.... After a 8 min run, I am coming off at about 160°..

On carpet my b5m with a 9.5 feels like a dog compared to my 44.3 with a 7.5. And, given the traction, the 2wd comes off quite hot. If I were running carpet frequently i'd probably put a 7.5 in my 2wd (somewhat for speed reasons and somewhat for heat) and a 6.5 in the 4wd. Track is maybe 100x50ish

Hey chris honestly u dont need anything like that...me and chris henthorne r runnin 17.5 in ours.last sunday i had my 8.5 in and that was way to much power and chris and mine times were very close to trungs 6.5 in his buggy so honestly u dont need that much power to run this track
I'm going to leave the 17.5 in there for this Sunday and see how I like it but want to be prepared with a mod motor depending on how things sort out with classes as we get going on the new track.

I ran a 6.5 in my 44.2 and when I went to 2wd I switched to a 7.5 and they are very similar. I run minimal timing on carpet, especially since it's a smaller track. After a 5 minute race it was coming off at 105° if that. Geared 23-78 with the Schelle slipper. When I run off-road on a large dirt track I just increase ESC timing. Plenty fast.
