Default HW SCT-PRO with 4k pro4 input

I have the sct pro paired with the tekin pro 4 hd, lipo 2s 5k 60c 130 burst. Sc10 4x4. Vts and clickers locked. I do run it with the sensor no timing so smooth, on a high bite technical indoor carpet track with jumps. A bunch of us run for fun on non race days and anything goes. This setup keeps my motor around 125 deg after 15-20 min hard running.

It doesn't feel much faster than with the mmp but the servo seems better off. I thought this motor would crank. Don't get me wrong it pulls but just not what I thought. My 5700kv 2wd Sc10 is all over it and will pull the wheels up on occasion. I want to keep my temps and run time. I'm looking for more top end but want to keep the torque for the tight turns. Any suggestions on motor choice or esc with boost. Almost everyone is running tekin rx8 gen2 combos and on the straight it's so close need just a nudge to pull away. Looking for suggestions.

At only 125 you have room to grow gearing wise. The sc10 also has little motor airflow so a fan will help give a little better circulation.

I'm going to try that next. What's the hottest you would let the motor or esc get to?

We consistently run our Tekin motors to 180° after an 8 min main, with no issues. What radio are you using? What's your throttle endpoint set at?

180F is the max, running motors that hot just shortens its life.

150-170F is where you wanna be IMO.

Thanks that helps alot. I haven't really ever looked into the limits of temps so I've always stayed around 125.
So now I can go 2 or 3 teeth more and still be ok.

Tekin has told a few guys that their T8 motors are good over 200

Epa and throttle are up all the way. It was gearing. Didn't want to run hot but needed more up top.

OK, most people fail to realize that 100% on the throttle epa is not always 100%. Spektrum goes to 150% & Futaba goes to 120%.

but past 100% on throttle does nothing if the unit was set up right the first time. TRy gearing up 2 teeth on the motor.

I use a mt4. I set both esc and radio at 100% then bound them, I tried it at 150% but didn't notice a difference.

Your radio's throttle epa was set at 100% when you calibrated to the esc? If so, then pull full throttle and turn the epa up from 100% to 150% and see what happens. You can do it on a stand.
