Probably because AVC affects throttle as well as steering....its like traction control on your 1:1 car cranked up.

Need bootcamp for mac to get it going. If you're carpet racing, you'll need to get into setting the parameters....unless you're just using Field Link but that just gives you minimal settings. Just borrow someones Windows laptop in the meantime.

My Losi 22 has the MM Pro with a DX4R system and I run the BEC at 7.4V (HV brushless servo) and no problems whatsoever with the steering. I know others that run with Spektrum systems but with different ESC's. No glitch buster or capacitors so its not just a Spektrum issue. Its using the Castle ESC with the Spektrum that is the issue. Just one of those things.

Mostly Spektrum 4210's but one or two other spectrums are mixed in there and my box as well, and 2-dx4 radios and no glitching as long as the front wheels are not in a bind, like something leaning on them or whatever and it will try and constantly keeping it centered. I'm a novice so if any one can screw it up its be me, so it is probably faulty parts or your AVC is not completely off, turned down is not off I found out.

Nope, turning it down to 0 on the transmitter doesnt do it....the only way to truly turn it off is insert another bind plug into the "disable" port on the receiver and rebind...and dont forget to re-calibrate.

Or just run a non-AVC receiver and no worries then.

It's just far too common a problem with that kit. It's just not fair to be marketing and selling a radio that is so prone to issues and is far too picky on what it wants to work with. You certainly shouldn't have to buy all sorts of glitch busters and specific esc this and servo that to make it compatible.

All I am doing is giving my 25years plus experience of this stuff and recommending that the OP returns what is obviously a defective bit of kit and replace it with something that is known and proven not to have any issues. By the way I don't appreciate the bash because it isn't personal - far too many people (not only on here) voice their opinion of this kit in not a very favorable light.

Your Radio is the number one most important bit of kit you have and if you can't get any confidence in it due to glitches or whatever it's doing then you won't enjoy your racing through constant worry the thing is going to end up in the wall through no fault of your own.

The biggest problem with Spektrums are caused by low voltage. I agree they do have a lot of problems, but they also perform great once you figure them out. There are always things to work on in this hobby. You buy a new car kit and have to figure out what to replace to make it right, same here, as some of us are used to it. I guess your right as some radios are easier to manage. Have you tried one with the higher voltage batteries in it? Spektrum should get off their ... and make higher voltage battery packs available.

One thing no one mentioned AVC needs a digital servo to work properly .
Ive got srs4210s in 6 different machines so far and only problems Ive had with them are leaving in the oem non digital servos in them .they work but burn out after a few packs thru em . running savox and associated digital and havent had a problem since .

Is anyone having a throttle glitch with the 4210? I turn down the avc to 0 and it seems fine. As soon as I turn it off or up the truck will take off at full throttle and won't stop till it hits something.... Hard. Tried a standard sr410 and it works fine. Any ideas bc the truck is unsafe right now with a 4210. I'm running a glitch buster too

Funny how some people are having issues and others have not. Been running Spektrum since 2002 when I saw a little girl take a 1/8 nitro buggy to the face from someone else being on the guys channel ( days of clothes pins and crystals).

Since that day, I have never had issues with any spectrum product. Call me lucky I guess. That's 5 different transmitters, and probably 20 or so receivers. I still have my original DX2 that I use for motor break in. It runs a HiTec 645 servo and 3000 Rx on 4.8V rechargeable AA batteries for about 45 minutes without issues. For racing, I have NiCd's, NiMh, LiFe, and LiPo packs. The non lithium batteries have dropped down to around 5 volts in a long main without issues until the servos just quit working and the LiFe/LiPo's run just fine for a minimum of an hour. I just recharge them at about 6.2-6.5 volts just to keep them peaked out.

On the transmitter side, I was running regular, Duracel and Energizer AA's. Rechargable ones too. Warning beeper was going off during the whole 30 minute main and no issues. I went to the NiZn just to try them and see what the WOW factor was. Fully charged 2500mAh NiZn will last for 30 hours and still not drop below 6.5V. I figure that's pretty dam good since the regular AA's will maybe hit 6-6.3V brand new out of the package and be down to 5.5 in one race day.

I think it has to do with a lot of the newer "features" that the radios are coming with, the high current and loads from these super fast/strong servos and BEC's from the ESC trying to compensate for that draw causing issues.
And from users that may not have their equipment set up correctly....

Called tech support and they're sending me a new one. The rep said they've had this problem before but considering the number of rx they have out, it's a small number that have problems.
