Just wanted to give a little update. Graupner USA seems to be alive and well. I was a little worried after tower hobbies seems to have dropped the line. However I called tech support and they returned my call within 20 minutes, used their firmware updater just now with no problem, and seem to offer / sell all their products direct. I ordered my third GR4 reciever and have been very happy with my X8N. Not as mainstream as some of the other brands but a great product, additional recievers don't cost an arm and a leg, and support is there.

Is this TX still a good buy in 2019? It's not very common in my country, however the LHS has them discounted such that it sits between the price of a new Futaba 3PV and the Sanwa MT-S. Provided they can give me support and wasranty, it seems like this TX is probably the most feature packed of the three?

The only bad thing is the braking part of the trigger can break off real easy if you're heavy handed. Warranty support was excellent although I was the one who broke it. I ended up putting little pieces of foam on both TXs right where the brake/trigger would just about need to stop to keep it from over extending too far.
Both radios have been perfect ever since.
Also, the antenna wire is thicker than other RXs so you'd need antenna tubing with a little larger ID.

Not sure if this one will fit, but take measurements of the tray to double check:
