It runs with the 30 deg. fixed timing motor end cover.

I ran the flow and 13.5 X20 in the blinky class yesterday,
I ran the 5.0 because I didn't get time to update it,and ran 35deg motor timing and max initial drive, the hottest it came off was under 70c so well happy as I had plenty of drive and top speed

With the new 5.4 it shows the stock settings apart from the boost timing,do you keep the boost timing and ramp close to each other in terms of degrees?

The way iv worked with the flow speedo in the past.

Say you're putting 40 degrees of boost in and the ramp is set at 20 degrees. 20 degrees is applied for every 10k RPM of the motor. So at 20K RPM all of the 40 degrees of boost gets applied. That's if you are geared correctly to hit 20k on your track size.

But, I do not know the point at which the ESC starts to apply it's boost. It use to be around 5k. So if the boost is started at 5k would then at 25K it would be where the boost would finish applying the 40 degrees of boost.

Can someone confirm my way of thinking? I don't see a start rpm for the boost in the new firmware. I wonder if it's algorithm actually starts the boost off soft in the first 10k?

Just a USB bridge to download new firmware.

Not for programming settings.

Running in 21.5 blinky with v5.4. I tried x-stock brakes and BD3 brakes, can't really tell the difference really... anybody notice the difference?

It may just have been that when I thought I was pulling a small bit of throttle for the Rev in the pits it was actually a lot and the unloaded RPM went through the roof??

What ever it was, it was catastrophic.

I've ordered a new motor and will update the ESC again and go through the steps properly this time. If that leads to a lunched motor, it will be on LRPs dime and not mine!!
so i know the answer now....

i didn't do a factory reset (or a recalibrate). The latter wasn't an issue, however, what it appears to have done is taken the "default" setting number for the previous firmware i had on board, but applied it to the new firmware.

when you do the reset, it applies the new defaults.....

going through the settings it was then,

torque timing 10deg
boost timing 30deg
Boost ramp 14deg

so with 37.5deg insert on board with the motor, yeah, umm, that'll do it.....!

On the SXX with the new updates board fitted, what updates can I put on it?
Is it like the flow were I can put different profiles on or am I just stuck with what's already on it?

Yep, new motor in (trinity D4) re updated the firmware for good measure then did a factory reset and recalibrated.

Double checked all the settings were right, changing one (initial drive up), and it ran flawless.

The D4 definitely likes some timing on the end bell!!

Myself and another racer were both running brand new motors and both ended up at 60deg end bell by the close of the day!

Does anyone knows where I can find the V5.0 software for the works flow ? It is not at the LRP site, and has been switch out with the V5.4.
But I tried to run the V5.4 this weekend in Boosted race 17.5, and could not realy get my flow to run like when I had the V5.0 software installed.

It seems like the esc went into blinky mode on the straight, and then gained more speed in lower rpm when going around coners and chicanes.

So i am lookning to have the old software version installed again.
