Boca bearings.. screws are kind of moot point. I run hiro seiko. Good combination of titanium and alloy and they look nice. But there are better screws out there

And that's what I feel happened with tamiya chassis. It's stiff as ply wood sideways and soft front to back. To me they got their weave backwards. The samix chassis is stiffer front to rear but softer side to side. But not to soft to where it feels floppy.

I have good expectations at Nats this week with the softer chassis in 17.5. Will report and say how it goes
Yeah definitely let us know. I thought Superior was going to carry them unless if they sold out locally. I wanted to try one, but could never find it on their website. I never tried the stock chassis. I was gonna save it for carpet season so that I would not scuff it up. I've been running the Smokem V14 chassis. Much softer than stock. Yesterday practicing for a big race up here next weekend, I put in all the top deck screws to really stiffen up the Smokem chassis and found that it helped rotate the car a lot better. So I was sure the stock chassis would be more so. Maybe I should have picked up the Samix chassis.

Put me down for another on the 42238 & 42231 pairing. Works brilliant.

I'm using tamiya ti/al screws but about to try some hiro seiki titanium to see if they are any harder. The tamiya ti ones are very soft.

Bearings I'm about to change to avid. See how they go.

Another build question. When putting the shocks together is there a correct/ Optimum shock length?

Just build them normally.

61.5 seems to be about perfect. But besides that make sure u replace the kit oring with either the Tamiya blue or much more blue orings. Much smoother and more free. Ulll thank me later lol

how can I understand the upper arm spacer in the new setups? (for example, Jilles ETS Setup Luxembourg, 0 mm in the setupsheet) .. I find it somewhat confusing, with the new 54580 cub carrier (you use this too?) go to the setups from the orginal? ...So if I drive the new, inferior to 0.7 mm.
how much you lay under the most?

The new hub carrier is 0.7mm shorter in height. So to be equal to the kit settings you need to add 0.7mm on top, then add spacers.

Not sure which hub carrier Jilles is using. I do know that he uses the old style ball studs everywhere though.

Just curious if durability is any better with the 54580 hubs versus stock? Or is it about the same?

Just broke a c-hub yesterday in the main. Aside from that, the car was great first time out with Rod Canare's 13.5 Reedy setup.

I'm not sure how durable they are. I ditched the kit chubs for the new style ones when I built the car. I have launched my car off the track at full speed on my infamous sweeper. It bent the "supposedly" stronger suspension block (what a joke) and almost pulled the screw through my Smokem chassis. Rear arms seem to be tough though. Which reminds me, I need to check and see if the suspension pin bent. Come carpet season I think I'll see just how tough the new chubs are. Hehe
